Just lower limits if it’s really affecting lakes. Places like Oahe it will have zero affect

As someone that has ffs, I’m not sure what to think about it. Down south it is definitely effecting bass and on a larger scale crappie populations is what studies are showing. It’s a wierd deal how these young dudes fresh out of high school are winning BASS Elite tournaments. That alone should tell you something. The big namers and old timers in the sport can’t even complete with them. Not sure how you could regulate something like this for recreational fishing but do agree some limitations are needed for tourney fishing. On the recreational side crappie lakes down south will be toast if something isn’t done
I agree with this. Regs for tournaments, but I don't think they will ban it for the casual fisherman. Too many people have invested too much money into FFS.

Most casual fishermen, probably, do worse using it. There is a learning curve to it.

For a master it would be a perfect device to experiment with Countdown Raps and shut down a persistent retard.

As a youngster fishing with my dad on Leech Lake in Mn, we did quite well catching walleyes drifting across Stony Point with just a lindy rig and a night crawler (professionally harvested by us the night before using sophisticated flashlights and quick reflexes) haha. Pa had a green box Lowrance depth finder...any on you remember those? Reel in a bit boys..he would tell me and my 2 brothers..its gonna get a little shallower drifting over the point.. We had fun catching walleyes. Miss those days.We didn't need no FFS. (y)

In my head FFS = For Fuck Sake.... Definitely it has no place in competitions. Even if all it does is help you find structure/habitat, thats a HUGE benefit compared to those who dont have it.

Well you can find structure and habitat with your basic graph and side imaging, ffs shows you fish swimming around in real time. What direction they’re moving, how they are reacting to your lure and if they eat it or not. And how big they are.

Easy comparison, look how game cameras changed bow hunting... Imho, it takes the actual meaning of the quest out of the equation but that's just technology for ya.. The younger generations didn't get to experience much of pushing the bush days or actually searching for pods of fish soley based on dad's/uncles/grandpa's memories. Combine super tech with money making opportunities and this is what you get and is where we are. Personally, id take the 90s back any day but I'm not one much for major change either but somehow I ended up in tech. Talk about a love hate relationship!

It does make big difference, and you have to learn and understand it. Just look at Tournament on Sak those guys that know it kicked our local's ass period. I practiced with few of them it does work. Will take hit on fishing period just like Minnesota just not to many years ago when faster boats new electronic's came out same with FFS you catch way more fish and more people fish than ever. Going to have to change or lower limits. We used to be able to keep 40 sunfish hell most lakes now in Minnesota it is 10 or even less need to be more strict today.

Our cabin on a northern Mn lake has a 5-bluegill daily limit.
We don't need to launch each time we go fishing as we have a lift but there is a regular worker at the boat landing checking ppl to make sure they clean their trailers, boats, etc when coming off the lake. They are not checking limits mind you..more so ANS. Have seen the workers at other lakes in the area when we go for SXS rides so that is good.
