Want to bet our taxes due in 25 will go up more than the $500 credit

We also won't see the amount of credit, if any until after the election. Another Political shell game
Absolutely they will get the money back. We recieved money back from car insurance during covid...because the company was being such a great steward to us...told the wife they will come back for that ten fold when this is all done with...recieved a 30% increase with zero claims thia year. Govt is the same..we are being such great steward of your money, here is a bone we can screw you with later.

I paid my property taxes today. That sucked and I've never been a fan of that. However, I'd rather have those decisions made by local people and not people from afar. Would this end all taxes paid for by out of state companies that own property (i e Walmart) or rail roads, or pipelines? I read the petition, but haven't read title X of our constitution yet to know what will still be law, but omitted from property tax.

So you’ll give up ending property taxes if out of state business owners don’t have to keep paying?

Thank you for the information on where to sign the petitions.
In Bismarck you can sign at Gateway Mall at the booth in the hall right in front of Rock-n-50s from 2:00 - 6:00 daily.

Guess we shouldn't feel too bad: read an article about Pennsylvania this morning - they were bragging about having $6 billion in their slush fund for a rainy day, which would be enough to run the state government for 48 days. Doing the math works out to a $45.6 billion yearly budget. The ND state budget is $16.9 billion (per biennium).

California dealing with a 56 BILLION dollar deficit... AND have a committee studying reparations. Ya wanna talk stupid governments?!
This is the shit that worries me, as we are flush with a slush fund. I feel at some point our excess will be spread around when the "right" people take over our lives with the socialism that the left loves.

Everyone i talk to have no idea about the $500. I am contacting all three rep/sen in my district to complain about how this was handled. I dont blame the tax commissioner. Why shovel this to his side - he doesnt collect property taxes. This is the way the feds do it and that is why the IRS is so screwed

This expansion—which was approved in legislation in May—will make around an additional 700,000 undocumented residents eligible for health insurance, according to California State Sen. María Elena Durazo.

The California Health and Human Services Agency will provide $835.6 million in funding between 2023 and 2024, and $2.6 billion annually to expand Medi-Cal to residents regardless of immigration

I don't know what other counties did but Burleigh county included a flier about the $500 credit in our property tax invoice. I agree it is poorly handled but if you got a flier in your envelope and did not look at it, well, not sure that's on the county.

A neighbor of ours moved here from California. He told me, his house was taxed at the rate he paid for it. It would be taxed at a new rate when it is sold. He said the value stays the same until it is sold again.

Right, the ND state budget is 8.4 Billion for 2024 and 6.7 Billion for SD state budget, which is 1.7 Billion higher the SD with about the same pop. ND has about 2.5 Billion surplus over and above the bloated budget and they still won't give it back to the taxpayers. The ND state legislature is out of control with their drunk sailor spending and greed!
