They’ve raised the valuation on my house in the country 85+k since 2022 sooooooo….
If prior it was a $ 200,000 house that is now worth $ 285,000 in 3 yrs that is a 15% avg UNREALIZED GAIN on investment per year, you should be jumping for joy instead of sulking, at least that is what the TAX ME HARDER CROWD says.

i was wrong we only got 475 dollars not the full 500.00 tax credit. Wife made a couple phone calls and nobody can tell her why not the full 500.00, one lady said its because we paid early and saved that way???
I paid early and got the full 500. So they are blowing smoke somewhere.

Ive said it since day 1. Taxing an arbitrary number which is assigned to property based on a valuation is unconstitutional. It is a tax on an unrealized gain. By definition it is illegal what they are doing and have been for years. This is exactly the intent of the measure some of you carrot heads voted down. It was vague because it was written with the constitution in mind not to come up with another solution. The solution was up to each subdivision to decide in their own within the parameters of the constitution.

I have houses in 3 different counties and its stupid the difference in the taxation.
Absolutely. A few sections of land and a farm in one county is just a hair more than a spec house on 1/3 of an acre in another. It’s sickening.

I don't know many of us would really like the free-market restrictions suggested by some of the posters on this thread. Rule #1 in real estate is to invest in a piece of property that is more likely to appreciate in value than something else in the area. In reality, it sounds like some are pissed that they chose wisely. This boggles the mind.

not even close, 2 are on 3 acres and one is on 1/2 acre. my point is there isnt any set format for setting the prices on what they are worth. and if i was a farmer i wouldn't be paying property tax on my main home.

As long as I begin to pay less, and maybe eventually none, that would be great.

They didn't pick up my garbage today, I think I will cut my bill this month by 25% since they are only going to do 75% of their prepaid job. That'll learn em

Well shit, if you are not paying 25% of your city bill, I'm not paying 50% of mine as I haven't seen a blade or sand truck on my dead-end street all winter. After it got warm enough to thaw and now refroze, I have driven prairie trails that are smother then my street.

Don't be a tight ass and ask the snowmen over for a couple of your famous caesar's and maybe they may show up next storm. ;)
