Questions:

a poster referred to being "out", can you only give so many per day?

if you add a comment does that attach your "name"?

I agree with guywhoiswisestamongstusall in that this will defeat the system

I believe the intention of the rep system is to stimy (made up word??) unacceptable behavior such as swearin, nudity, name calling, threats, etc

Not sure how it will keep a group from dominating if it was planned and executed

I dont even know how to view my rep... (figured it out, click on settings at top right and scroll down on main page to view your latest rep comments, not sure if/how you can view them all tho) But Im under the impression that its a good thing to have!

Wormy, I think you can only rep 5 people every 24 hours. Also if you rep someone, you need to rep X more people before you can rep that same person again. Im not sure what X is either. Maybe Vollmer will explain. Ill give him some rep for contributing, when Im allowed to again.

I'm not even sure how you give a negative rep. I thought I may have by mistake one day when trying to see how things worked. So I contacted V. He may have explained it, but it was to long ago for me to remember. I have given a lot of thumbs up. Is that the positive rep?
I like to look at the received and given thumbs up. I have more hours in psychology than I ever wanted, but I think the people who give more than receive are kind hearted. Lot of great people. :;:thumbsup

This is one of the unfortunate uses of REP I have discovered. I have gotten several negative reps from people not for being 'out of line', but just because they share different opinions than I do. It can be used as a way to punish people you dont agree with. Originally I was hoping V would disable the ability to give negative rep, but it doesnt look like that is going to happen... Also it could potentially be used by a group of individuals to 'remove' someone they dont like, but hopefully that wont happen.
