Only 2 things show up like that in my experience. A massive ball of bait or a heavy brush pile. Looks more like baitfish than brush, though.

I agree with captain. At the speed you are moving it stays in the cone longer as well.

Lincoln, kinda...
Could be baitfish (most likely), but the sensitivity seems to be set pretty high as well. Tone that down and it may disappear, which suggests it could also be current if in the river, or weed bed if on a lake. My older Lowrance would do the same in turbulent water and no fish around. For a baitball, I'd be looking to see if I could find some larger returns in the same vicinity for those big eyes that are harassing it.

Looks like an older Lowrance unit, note what looks to be the GPS puck. So no downscan on this unit.

Then again, there are times where I am pretty convinced I suck at interpreting my graphs.

If sensitivity is real high a bug hatch will show up like that too... bugs or bait fish is what I would say... if you were on shell village yesterday it was bugs

You have a valid point. Only thing that steered me away from bug hatch was the fact there were no trails to the surface.

I always like going through Doc's screenshots and trying to interpret. He usually posts some on his FB page to guess on before he reveals the answer.
