Steel Waterproof Union Chest

My wifes grandfather is getting a bit older (in his 80's) and can no longer go get around real well. He's been giving us stuff regularly for a few years now but recently he gave the kids a bunch of old metal Zebco casting reels and a nice little gem - a steel waterproof union box. They just don't make stuff like that anymore. Made in the US - this little sucker has seen some better days but is in great shape still. Cant wait to clean it up and give them something to remember their great grandpa by and have a smaller tackle box that will last them for years!

Great little item!!! Just a thought here, but you might want to make a nice display out of that by leaving it open on the mantle or some such and putting pictures, cards, jewelry, and other items from your wifes grandparents in there. Something your kids can take down and touch. Might give them more of a connection with their great grandparents.

That's a possibility, wife would never let that fly however. I'd never give it to them now - it'd be later in life when they can appreciate it and take care of it. Most of the kids would be "meh" anyway but one of them would love it in a few years.
