My 80+ year old mom needs an easily switchable hitch.

Plz recommend make/model.

buy one of those hitches that have three different size balls on them or just have her son change it for her :;:stirthepot

do they make one that just rotates?

And never gets rusted up?

Pulling the receiver in/out is BS for 80 yr old.

I wish I lived close enough!

What’s granny towing?

her and "hubby" have a menagerie of small to medium sized trailers

horse, utility, a portable hot tub, you name it

she's getting sick of the swap out game and sometimes they get dusted/rusted in

there are other models that are more heavy duty

I had one of these and eventually had to beat one of the balls off with a hammer and ruined it.

That one might be a more tapered spindle than the one that froze up on me.

Bought a couple of these online and kinda forgot about the drop aspect, they don't work too well with 2500's with a lift. Now I'm up to my ears in reciever hitches laying around where the B&W solves that mess.

I too have had one of those interchangeable balls, oh so many years ago. The problem is at Guy noted, they get rusty and eventually (like way sooner than you care for) go to hell and piss you off more than they should.

The B&W hitch is nice, but those pins eventually begin to suck as they rust as well. Pulling them out will be unpleasant for an 80 yr old woman soon enough, so I'd go with one of them in this case but I would replace the pins with something like this:

thanks everyone

I was doubtful that the "perfect" hitch system had been invented - look like they're getting close but no maintenance free system yet exists

just wanted to make sure I wasn't asleep at the switch when it came to latest/greatest

Put this on the shaft and make sure she removes the ball after she is done towing a trailer

If you can hook a trailer up you can pull a receiver ball out and turn it a quarter turn and reinsert lol

Had to rip out grandma's receiver hitch with a vehicle and tow rope, must have put in the day of purchase and never removed it (living on gravel doesn't help matters.) wd40 and a pressure wash job in the female end every so often never hurts of nothing else.

you must have missed the part about those types getting stuck

besides - they really aren't equivalent motions/actions - at all

chances are you have been - she's pulling trailers between Dickinson and Killdeer all the time

drives better than most men - used to drive class A all over the country

I knew that woman looked familiar, she was tailing me until I had to pull over and let her by..

Older people are sometimes in a hurry as they know their time is limited.
