You guys ever here of first come first serve? Holy eff. I'd be in prison if I worked one day as a cashier. Did the freakn' pony express have magical weather modifying power? This time of the year is referred to as "peak". Notice the odd hours and days you see the vans out and about. If you get hung by a new rope don't effing bitch about it. Christmas bullshit should start in May.

I had a package due to be delivered out in the country, so I called UPS and was going to be nice and help them out and get it delivered to work in town, so they didn't have to deal with the country roads. Nope wouldn't do it I would have had to re-pay shipping fees for going to a new address, I told them they were dumb and not to call if they got stuck.
I need to add that I get they are backed up, due to the storms shutting roads down for 2-3 days and this is probably a dumb corporate policy and if I new the driver he would have gladly delivered my package into town instead of out in the country, but the clueless customer service person I talked to rubbed me the wrong way.

Ha, leaving myself open here talking about my package and getting rubbed the wrong way....Get your mind outta the gutter

Huh , how come you quit ?

Your boy Obama made me retire two years before planned. E-7 was reduced to mandatory at 24; shortly thereafter came a fine article in the Air Farce Times and e-mail how this "Michelle" was increasing military welfare benefits. She also had great success with school lunches. This was all just after the bastard stopped the F-22.

My time line may be a bit skewed but the facts are accurate.

Similar issues with UPS. We were notified that a parcel requiring signature would be delivered on December 2. When it was not (wife arranged to be home all day), we called the 800 number and they recited what the package was scheduled to be delivered on December 2 (It was December 3). We attempted to arrange a way to pick-up at the UPS facility and were then informed that it was still on a container that had not been broken down. It was finally delivered yesterday (December 12), frozen, and of no value. The UPS driver who provides great service, noted that there were thousands of items that were still in shipping containers. Our son had a similar experience and also was willing to pick-up. Frustrating part for us is that it is impossible to get accurate updated info. When the parcel did arrive at 7:00 PM on December 12, we just happened to be home. Sympathetic to weather related issues, but UPS customer service at corporate level is nothing short of a shit show. We were informed today that UPS will pick-up the damaged parcel on one of the next three business days and if they are not able to retrieve the damaged product on their undetermined schedule (requiring us to be home next three days), no further action will occur. Policy works well for UPS.

That isn't how this is working. We ordered things 4 days later that were delivered ahead of the package that was already setting in Bismarck UPS. Understand the storm part and things get messed up but they aren't organized at all so it seems. Don't blame the driver at all as it isn't his fault.
Also agree with the customer service sucks. Should be able to pick up a package if it isn't being delivered.

You're right, def not the driver's fault. And the folks working in the UPS hub here in Bismarck either. I mean, the grunts are only doing what they're told.

This time of year, the UPS, FedEx, USPS "system" barely works. All three major carriers are constantly, nearly, temporarily overwhelmed.

Stick in a couple of days of the interstate being closed, and it takes weeks to get back to normal.

UPS in Bismarck has something like 150 extra people they've pulled in from other cities, to help with the backlog. And they have something like an EXTRA 40 trailers each night, over and above what they normally experience at this "peak" time of the year.

My enhanced intelligence leads me to believe that they obviously need to hire a bunch more people to work during the Christmas season, but I'm told that it's so temporary (and people don't want to work unless they get $20 an hour).

All that being said, I should be getting a box from Rapala, tomorrow.

Got two notifications this morning that my packages were on the truck for delivery today. Just received another notification that one of the packages was now delayed....So did they just decide to take it off the truck? I understand that it's not the drivers/sorters fault, but UPS customer service is the worst I've dealt with in a long time.

At work we ship all over the country, every day. And one of our warehouse guys moonlights at UPS. They are BEEEEE-HINNNDD.

It's getting sorted out, but if your tracking info states "UPS SurePost", that means that it's going to eventually come in the USPS. Postal Service. That's right, the Postal Service is actually taking some of the deliveries for UPS. Magic, I guess.

They have been doing this in rural areas for quite awhile now.

The Mrs. is a USPS rural carrier, and she hasn't been in a good mood since 2 months before the election, and it's only getting worse. I've been doing my best to stay clear of her, and now she's threatening me with counseling. Can't wait for the ice to be safe!
