Saw the other recipe and had to post the one I use as well. The aioli really helps make this dish. They can be cooked on a grill if you make a foil aluminum pan with edges so the oil doesn't run off. Use a mix of olive oil and butter to cook these, and don't be skimpy on the oil.
Walleye Cakes
1 pound (or more) of walleye, cooked
11⁄2 c. mayonnaise
4 eggs
1 c. cooked wild rice
1/2 c. shredded Parmesan
4 green onions, chopped,
1 tsp. garlic powder, or 1 clove fresh garlic
1 package crushed saltine crackers
2 tsp. seasonings (salt, pepper, herbs, Old Bay)
2 tbsp. oil or butter
Blue Cheese Aioli
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 oz. crumbled blue cheese
Mix well and refrigerate for a while to let flavors meld
