Kramer finally nailed it. Someone should have been shouting this out from the beginning. They should also point out how many oil pipeline there are in the USA and how often try have leaked.

- - - Updated - - -

One more thing Cramer brought to light that should constantly by preached, is that transporting oil by truck or train is burning more fossil fuel! The pipeline is the greenest way to transport it.

The State Health Department’s spill investigation team was out in blustery conditions Monday and Tuesday, working to contain an oil pipeline spill that has impacted about 2.5 miles of the Ash Coulee Creek and a tributary creek in the badlands.

The spill, of so-far unknown volume, was detected Monday morning by a nearby landowner. Spill investigation program manager Bill Suess said containment booms at five locations were set up at the creek and a skimmer dam that catches oil on the water’s surface was established Tuesday. The spill location is about 16 miles northwest of Belfield.

The pipeline operator is Belle Fourche Pipeline Co., which has a record of 15 spills dating back to 2000, ranging from two barrels to 300 barrels in several oil patch counties, according to department records.

Following news of the spill, the Laborers District Council of Minnesota and North Dakota, an organization that represents skilled construction workers including many working on the Dakota Access Pipeline, urged North Dakota state officials to provide stronger oversight of True Companies' pipelines, of which Belle Fourche is a part.

“We represent thousands of skilled men and women who are committed to building safe pipelines,” said spokesperson Evan Whiteford, a career pipeliner. "Our members take pride in their work, and we won’t just stand by and allow an irresponsible pipeline operator to harm North Dakota’s natural resources or damage reputation of our industry. We think it’s time for state officials to step in and force the True organization to clean up its act.”

Suess said this spill occurred on a portion of above ground, 6-inch transmission pipe and it’s unclear what caused the breach, though nearby construction will be investigated as a possible cause.

He said the spill volume is significant, but the volume was unknown Tuesday since the oil pumping and recovery operation was just getting underway.

“We don’t think it was leaking real long. The landowner detected it fairly rapidly,” Suess said.

Ash Coulee Creek empties into the Little Missouri River, but with another 20 miles from the point of spill to the river, it didn’t appear likely it would extend that far. The creek is still flowing, he said.

Every time i look at this it pisses me off that Obama our so call president let this happen and people wonder why Trump is already working on stuff that obama should be working on and changing but is not. KICK that piece of S**T out of the white house PLEASE. It is amazing that this guy has in the 8 years in office screwed up so much in such a short time. Racism and the PC bulls**T never was a issue before his F**ked up 8 years. IF you are reading this and saying this guy hates Obama you would be correct!

great timing on the new oil spill too - thanks you pipeline installing doorknobs;:;banghead

Is it really that dang hard to build pressure/flow sensors into these feeders? Good grief that irks me - there's more technology in a dang washing machine nowadays than in a pipe capable of f'ing up a creek bottom for decades.

The creek is still flowing, he said.

sabotage is very likely. although this pipeline sounds rather remote so you would have had to know it was there I think. It's probably a pipeline from a LACT unit on a well site pumping it to a main pipeline artery then on to a sales tank battery. Those are really hard to detect leaks on because the flow and pressure is intermittent. Meaning they only have flow and pressure in the line when they are shipping oil from a well's tank battery. That can vary from a every other day to once or twice a day for an hour or two. all depends on the production on a given well site. And how many wells are on that site and how many LACT units there are. These are the most likely pipelines to leak. They are small and I don't think they have the regulations on them the major interstate pipelines do. It's the same for the salt water lines too.

Ha ha just heard from my Niece who is an RN on the Rez in SD, said there is an outbreak of Lice and Scabies going on at prairie Knights now.;:;rofl

That's very possible since we battle kids with lice every year. Most times its from families that live rugged. Those were the ones congregating at the camp, so now the hippies catch them, in the crowded conditions, logical. But the casino is always fighting bed bugs and roaches. Nothing new there.

Who actually patronizes that Casino??? I would think they are losing a lot of business.

The gamblers who are addicted still come down, but its lost a lot of business on the gaming side. The lodge and quick mart are doing record profits. But overall its losing revenue.

Medical people in my circle have said the # 1 request from the camp is for medicine to cure STDs.

who do they request this to? And who is giving them meds?

Do hippies just get stuff cause they are so dirty and nasty, or is one of these celebrities that graced our state with their filthy hippy lifestyle smuggling prescription meds up to these wastes of water?

water is life, as hippies are ?

We should always be vigilant of the vermin among us. The casino will pay the price for the lies spread by Archambullshit and Wes Clarks offspring.

Good grief, the camps and casino must be scary places to even walk around in. Head lice, scabies, bed bugs, and STD's. I suspect lots of drugs getting passed around also. Probably even dysentery. Hard to even picture the mess that will show up when things thaw in the spring at the camps. Will need a hazmat cleanup team.
