Id like to know too, It's not 100% heat related because cable and water trenches are the same way.

There could be a couple reasons the grass is greaner. I finished year 2 of a 5 year pipeline reclamation study. These are experiences from the study.
1. Adjacent to the pipeline may be compacted from road traffic. The pipeline trench could be less compacted or not compacted at all.
2. More topsoil or compost/manure may have been placed above the pipeline.
3. I've seen the various B horizons replaced poorly. This can adversely effect chemical (generally will raise pH) and physical (water infiltration and root penetration). The soils in this area are river sediments. These sediment types usually have buried A horizons (fertile). Replacing these horizons near the surface could improve plant productivity.

Richer soil turned over to the top, old dead vegetation removed. Dig an egress window or a trench in your yard and fill it back in, it will look like store bought turf compared to the rest of your lawn for years.

As many bumps I have in my lawn, I've thought about just tilling up the whole damn thing. Damn near roll an ankle every time I mow.

Night Crawlers. Check it out during a rain. I pay the neighbors kids a nickel apeice.
I've gone out a few times but they're only in the back yard. Picked my fair share. When I'm really lazy I just turn the hose on that I laid under the garden. Usually good for a dozen fat crawlers.

Unfortunately, in my neighborhood, I'm still the neighbor kid at 31 years old.

Yeah definitely probably plays a roll but keep in mind we are looking at nearly 40 years since they put the line in and you can easily track it on Google maps for miles and miles. Hell you can see even the slight jogs in the line to this day. If it's good grass whatever the cause I as a farmer would be gung-ho for putting a second one in next to the first to increase the amount of forage produced in my pasture.

Right before my first grass mowing of the year I can still see greener grass where an old water line was trenched in about 70 years ago.

Same with missile cable trench dug on my dad's land back in the 50s. But in time it disappear on the cultivated land. Been years since I looked on the pasture land but I believe that has disappear also. Db

Heard the casino had to stop their 'all you can eat' buffet. One hippie would take enough for the other 200 living in the lobby.

And now he will make a video of how the governor stopped the casino from providing food to try to starve them out.
Apparently stealing food is a right.

eye, read Dean's post and check out the map.

Dean, I suspect the reason the grass is greener on top of the existing pipeline ROW is because when it gets reseeded they are using non-native grasses to the area. I would personally like to see native grasses and forbs put back in place, but that's just me.

They could of least target cannonball and left us up north out of it. But the deer activity is up 1000 percent at my food plots. Now getting 100s of picture on my ipad including constant daytime. Db

They were granted the easement and then the Corp took it back a couple months later. Hell the Corp came out today and said they were in favor of granting the permit now but we're over ruled by a civilian under secretary appointed by Obama. I was kinda surprised they admitted that but it's probably them not willing to take the fall for a lame duck president.

Splitting hairs here, but what the Corps has said all along is that they had been given "permission to write the easement" but had not yet done so. Basically, the permission to write the nuts and bolts of the easement got rescinded from above. There was never an easement in place, they simply had permission to write it.

Think of it as a purchase agreement for a home. The purchase agreement was in place, but the inspections and appraisals had not yet come in which would allow the finalizing of the actual purchase.

Disturbing the soil compaction profile has quite a bit to do with greener grass. It allows for better water infiltration and root penetration to access these stored waters deeper in the soils easier. In some cases different grass varieties may be part of it but in cases where no new grasses were seeded these differences still exist.

Might be geoengineered. They are trying to change the landscape with greener grass over the buried pipe in an effort to make it snow on command.
