See that's where the numbers go all wonky because they have 3 inches listed at 12:16 and .10 inches of water ....so that works out to 30 to 1 but if the 3.3 is right that means the snow flipped to the other side of the spectrum the last few hours with .3 inches of snow equaling .05 inches of water or a 6 to 1 ratio. So obviously there's some significant inaccuracies coming into play I just have no idea which way they're going.
Speaking off are we getting much soak in during this cold spell or is it just waiting to roll once again. The sheet water near my place looks to not have moved but it may well have been able to freeze solid before it had much chance to soak in.Snow measurements, much like models, are useless unless you have multiple to compare and contrast between. I base my original post on this topic off of looking at many snow measurements in multiple areas during the course of winter. Looking at just one observation, regardless of the source, is just asking for trouble.
Yeah the latest run slid it back north a touch and put you in the hart of it with a spread of 18 to 26. Bismarck is still out of it for the most part but only just so any wobble could put us fully into it or completely out.14 inches here hope they have it right i will be disapointed with any thing less
