I'd go with Klotz or Red Armor oil that doesn't stink. The difference between those and standard 2 stroke oil is astonishing.

I think the arrestors get plugged/fouled, right? The equivalent to getting a potato shoved up your tailpipe.

correct and all it takes is the correct socket and a wire cutter to take it off , Took me a few minutes and I am not a handy man

Any issues with it? I have not used it but read things online about people having issues with TruFuel.

I looked at the upgrade units and I couldn't justify the cost knowing that the same issue will likely occur. I remember when dad got one of these on an auction sale, provided lots of entertainment for me brush hogging. Looking back I had an odd sense of "fun" the harder I worked the happier I was, now some of those projects make me grumpy. I will say I was in darn good shape though

I still use the old one about a dozen times a year. Shit just flies when you get after it.

The mistake you made was marrying your "blower".....seems they stop working immediately when that happens! Maybe I misinterpreted your post

Nothing runs correctly with a plugged tailpipe, most often slower motion can be observed
