Yep. Lady tried to argue with me that there’s a cabelas in ND. I’m not sure she believes me yet.

It does suck, but more and more companies are starting to charge tax online whether they have a store in state or not.

It's been nice to get around the tax loop hole but it is really only fair to the brick and mortar stores. Pretty soon all online companies will be paying taxes because more and more commerce is done online.

You've been lucky. We've paid tax on it for years in SD with the Mitchell store being the first. Big companies, like Amazon, are starting to charge tax on everything to avoid the heat from the states. SD is yelling and screaming about tax revenue below projection and 100% of the blame is placed on online sales. I think it won't be long until there is something done, even at the Supreme Court level, that will allow the states to charge taxes to online stores. It can't be that hard, a system that records transaction totals and applied sales tax per state, then sends in a check. I love the online deal and it is probably the fair thing to do. Interesting on the Bass Pro deal!

Online sales have had an impact on state revenue which has to be made up somewhere else. 1st ND needs to get their spending in check and then by taxing online sales maybe we could reduce taxes across the board

HA!

THEEEEE only way that they will reduce spending is when they have a budget deficit. The more you give them, the more they spend. They never willingly cut taxes. If we didnt learn that in the boom years, I guess we never will. #abolishpropertytaxesnexttime.

Not gonna happen. EVER. Also a nice increase in property taxes coming state wide. Four million dollar governors mansion was sure a good useage of our tax dollars. Heritage fund? What the hell ever happened to that?

We should all start calling crystal piers aka tracker boat center and asking for their current inventory or having a pickup at store until they get sick of it and tell bass pro they are a boat dealer not a retail store

Techncally yes and supposed to have done that for a while now but who is going to voluntarily tell the state hey I need to pay you money unless it involves registering a vehicle or something like that.

I ordered a meat mixer from Cabelas only because it was on sale for 80 bucks. Otherwise I would have bought it at Scheels for a hundred. Thank god shipping was free. Ended up paying 7 bucks for tax.

Paying sales tax on a vehicle has to be a big money maker for the State. Think how many times quite a few vehicles are bought and sold so tax is paid many times.

Worked with a guy that moved from Montana and when he went to license his 10 year old pickup in ND they wanted him to pay sales tax on it.
