I don't hate it but for $30k i would've expected something a little less bland. To me it seems they were as careful as possible to be politically correct. Absolutely no life to it.

I don't see this logo lasting very long. Students or actual artists will come up with designs that are not so lame and generic. I was actually a little optimistic that they would come up with something decent. I was wrong. Glad I have a lifetime supply of the Fighting Sioux logo stuff. UND and Ed Schafer should be embarrassed that they actually paid for this. Colossal failure.

They did exactly what the NCAA and UND wanted: They created a bland, PC logo devoid of thought or feeling with absolutely zero connection to the past, highly touted, Native American created logo. Plus, it's so simple, reproducing it will cost a fraction of what the other logo cost. While you'll pay the same for gear, the university will get to reap the profits.

The greatest irony in all of this is that UND has to continue to sell Fighting Sioux gear on a regular basis in order to keep the trademark. My aunt works at UND and says word spreads like wildfire whenever new Sioux gear comes out. The stuff sells faster than they can put it on the rack.

Now the Sioux gear will really sell fast with the new logo being so damn boring.

It looks like the post office logo and the Burlington northern logo spawned a child. An absolute shame

The name is here to stay. Like Ed said, right now there is no value associated with the name and logo, but as time goes on and teams win with the new logo/name it will slowly become incorporated into the university's identity.

Personally I like it, and I also like the fact they got "North Dakota" into the logo as well.
