No, this is not a complaints thread, but I tried to stop into Nature's Reflection's Taxidermy east of Bismarck earlier today to drop off my deer antlers from last fall. I figured he should surely have the cape and form in by now. Well, it appears to be closed and up for sale. Anyone know what's going on?

I called and ended up leaving a message, but I got the computerized version of leave a message instead of what I thought was once a personal leave a message answer from the owner and haven't yet heard back.

Anyway, feel free to PM me if you know and it's not something you think should be on a public forum.

OK, just got off the phone with him and everything's OK, he is just in the process of moving to a new place.

Great guy to BS with, and while we all already know much of the impacts of the stupid pandemic, it was eye opening to hear yet another on how the dominoes fall. Hides for taxidermy are usually sent out to tanneries, the one he was using in Michigan has been closed since Feb and is just now reopening. So that puts things out a little extra in time.

Alot of the wholesale taxidermy suppliers closed for a while due to covid, and are also having a hard time getting stock, putting taxidermists even further behind than they already were.

Perfect reason why you shouldn't pull the trigger on that monster this fall! Let them run past the next guy, hopefully me, to take a look at and "evaluate" if you made the right decision...

I bet you had that sinking feeling. Ick.

All he has is my cape and a few bucks, so it wouldn't have been the end of the world. I was just more worried something happened to him that I hadn't heard about. Super nice guy to sit and shoot the breeze with...

Nah, if push comes to shove on supplies, I still have plenty clay and other basic materials for doing a rack mount. ;)
