If that’s the case, why have seasons, tags, or limits. If an animal owned by the public is on your land just kill it.. I could care less what a person does on their private land but when it comes to killing public wildlife I think there should be some rules. That is all.

Ok so what's this divine/ethical way that you've chosen should be the righteous way to hunt? Do you use a sharp stick, or possibly a rock? Or are you the suppressed newest cartridge out there kind of guy or possibly the $3,000 compound bow kuiu camo stalker type? You probably think food/bait plots though are fine and dandy.
I mean you put yourself on quite the pedestal with your ethics and judgement of other hunters.
Well I have news for you, the vast majority of folks in this country don't think any type of hunting is very ethical. So you'd best just hunt the way you want and let others do the same because causing division in the hunting community is about the last thing a person should be doing in this day and age. United we stand, devided we will surely will fall.

Obviously filming yourself hunting and fishing then putting it on social media is the right way to seal a good day in field or on the water. Makes a guy feel way better than just cleaning or filleting a good days catch. What happened to just going hunting or fishing and having good days or bad.. not everything in life is a guarantee. Now it’s just a game to see how many likes or subscribers you get. Ruined hunting in my opinion

Hunting and fishing began self destructing when it hit television. The internet, cell phones, small cameras, and guides beat and raped an already dead horse.

If the idea of vacationing disappeared, hunting and fishing would follow for most. Everything costs too much. It’s all for fun now, and some make money off of it. It would be cheaper and easier to buy beef from a butcher, order walleye at a restaurant, etc.

The people through legislative governance vote seasons, tags and limits. We hire the GnF to enforce/manage those laws. If an animal owned by the public is on your land you cannot just kill it, that is poaching. However, get a license, kill it, it becomes yours.

Has anyone seen or heard from Brock Wahl since this happened?

A couple of days before the House Floor vote April 11th, Brock dropped a flyer on all Representatives desks. The usual Saskatchewan studies of mule deer numbers going down because of CWD.

That was easy to debunk, elk are cervids too and their numbers are increasing pushing mule deer out. Herds of elk (100 or more) have been crossing into North Dakota.

We have one of the most studied cervid herds (2002) inside a fence at Wind Cave National Park South Dakota. A good percentage of them are wearing tracking collars. If an animal slows down and can't keep up with the herd or dies, they know about it. We are told coyotes/scavengers eat up a CWD dead animal in no time so therefore that is why we do not ever see them. The managers should be able to get there first.

I know the NDGF has access to this information. It costs $4100 to belong to the Midwest Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. An NGO comprised of 13 Midwest States. We sent NDGF DVM Charlie Bahnson on a retreat to Deadwood SD in 2023:

Wind Cave National Park CWD Research Update Greg Schroeder or Glen Sargent

Glen Sargent is one of the leads on studying cervids in Wind Cave. He is employed by The Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center or US Geological Survey Jamestown ND. All this information is available to NDGF.

Also, David Brandt worked with Glen Sargent at USGS and David is a board director with ND wildlife federation and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. Brock Wahl is the chair of BHA and is handing out flyers with numbers from Saskatchewan but is not sharing a wealth of data from Wind Cave. WHY?

Maybe things don't fit the narrative? The CWD infection rate is 3%. They have been chasing out excess animals with helicopters for several years. Last fall they used only skilled park service sharp shooters to cull excess animals.

Being able to feed them for an extra 6 months definitely won’t hurt populations, that’s for sure.

I know we could feed 365 days a year prior to this passing but stopped wherever I wanted to hunt at well before season and so did 99% of people in restricted units so the deer didn’t have access from September-January. Does keeping deer healthier with supplemental feed including high protein feed and minerals year around negatively impact their survival rate? I highly doubt it.

The part many people who have an issue with feeding always seem to not understand is supplemental feeding helps the herd and overall deer numbers in general areas as a whole. The surrounding area usually has higher populations which benefit all surrounding landowners both private and public alike. Also imho is the key reason we have a booming Turkey population in our state. Look at where turkeys winter. It’s either in livestock feed yards or around food plots/feed areas where guys into feeding deer heavy. A lot of people who invest time and energy into deer also are heavy into predator management as well. Without that i don’t think we would have nearly the amount of turkeys we do now. I honestly think the “ethics” reason against feeding:hunting over feed stems directly from jeleousy but most fail to see the overall benefit to an areas populations.
