Lincoln, kinda...
I just got back from a trip to Jamestown today. Any of the prairie potholes less than about 7 ft deep are iced over. Saw a fair number of birds sitting on open water and the ice though.

About 4:30 this afternoon, had a small (35-40 bird) flight of sandhills come over the house with a single bonus whooping crane in formation with them.

I agree; sure seems like the crane migration has gotten a lot later the last 15 years.

We went south Of Napoleon not much ducks but specks, snows and geese where loaded. Still not much as far as corn harvest up north and east of Bismarck our normal stomping grounds. Not sure where ducks are. maybe out of here was good till damn snow or maybe way more east Jamestown or Valley city?

Yesterday with that big wind i was watching mallards come from the heavens dumping in. Feeds in every direction you looked with all kinds of waterfowl. Work sure gets in the way

I figured that would be the case. Had two nice shoots last weekend right before dark. Maybe can get lucky and sneak out before dark. Lots of corn around here yet though.
