    Where's the fire?

Got this picture in my Target Walleye email today: You don't see this every day! These shots were emailed in by Target Walleye email reader Stacy H., whose buddies were on a fly-in walleye fishing trip on Clam Lake in northern Saskatchewan...when the forest fires closed in. Everyone was...

Lowrance side and down scan is awesome!

Yes, I can do that, but I've found little use for it so far compared to the regular SI, but perhaps in the future as I learn more. The real cool thing I've been doing this year, and you don't need DSI or SI to do it, is custom mapping based on your own sonar data. There are a couple little...

What is your favorite cajun spice?

You're never going to believe it, but only around $10 for a big vacuum sealed bag that filled up both these pans. I almost felt bad about eating them when I thought how big some of these walters must have been, but then when you taste them you forget all about that in a hurry! ;)

What is your favorite cajun spice?

They were huge like scallops, too. Actually bought them in Canada, straight from the commercial nets of Lake Winnipeg. They were awesome, just love the texture of cheeks!

    Filet Wars

I'll have to check those blades out too. I actually like cleaning fish and will always volunteer to clean the catch.

Map Chip for Older Lowrance GPS

If you can find an old Lakemaster chip for Lowrance (before they went exclusively Humminbird) that should work. Check eBay. You will pay a premium for them now as they're getting hard to find.

Lowrance side and down scan is awesome!

f That is a cool picture huffranger. Johnr and Dirty Mike, it sounds like you guys like running cranks. You guys would love side scan. A lot of times you will see some return on your regular 2D sonar, but on the SI most of the time the return is on one side of the boat or the other. With SI...

Lowrance side and down scan is awesome!

Upgraded some electronics this year and decided to get down and side imaging as well. Boy do I wish I would have gotten it sooner! Not only is it cool to look at but it has helped me catch a few more fish this year for sure by being able to tell if baitfish/structure/fish are more on one side...

    Trolling Motor Batteries

Although I've never tried them, you read good stuff all over the place on Wal-Mart deep cycle batteries.

What is your favorite cajun spice?

What have you cooked on an open fire ?

What's with all this tinfoil crap? If you're a man and you have a fire, you cook directly on the hot coals themselves! :;: Seriously, though, if you want something a little different with a taste you cannot get any other way research caveman steak/dirty steak/clinching steak. You cook right on...

DNR survey aims to shed light on fish in the Red River

Unreal how many species are actually in that river. Underutilized for sure. http://www.grandforksherald.com/outdoors/3770923-dnr-fisheries-survey-aims-shed-light-channel-catfish-red-river

    Crestliner Transom Woes

Between my back compartments and an access cover, it lets me view much of the inside of the transom as well as the wood backing. I also feel the wood underneath where I have my transducers installed to check for moisture. I run a Crestliner as well.

    Crestliner Transom Woes

Or the slow leak from the engine mount bolts rotted the wood which then put more stress on the transom causing it to crack. I check my transom wood and check for leaks often just to be safe.

    morning doves

Doves are such a blast to hunt, I look forward to it all summer. We made our own Mojo Dove tree a few years back and that has worked better than I thought. A few stationary doves on the branches and the Mojo up top. Sometimes the doves even try to land on the thing!
