My buddy sent me a video of him drilling a hole in the ice with his gas auger today.

Looking at the forecast for hardly any highs above freezing and single digits again at the end of next week, I'm sure many small lakes will easily have 4+" if not 6+ by the 1st.

December is for chasing pheasants. Ice fishing comes later. For me anyway.

Walked on several large sloughs today Beaver trapping. Solid 3 inches on most. Next weekend should be good on many of the smaller lakes with caution.

Small sloughs in the kenmare area had 1" in the thinnest spots. How long with it thicken over one day. Hidenwood and makoti froze over on Thursday night too

I'm thinking next weekend if we get some days and nights with no wind.

Changing my date to 2 more weekends just drove by the lake and it is wide open. With a pile of ducks and geese might have to go hunting for them on Monday now.
