I've never smoked pot, but I knew a lot of potheads. Pretty unremarkable individuals. About the worst thing they did was take too long to order their burger at the McDonald's drivethrough.

Then again, I knew a lot of kids who boozed it up in high school. Got into fights. Drove drunk constantly. Totaled vehicles. One died.

And despite all the warnings and all the labels and all the rules, kids still got cigarettes in elementary school and booze and pot in junior high. They always will! You can't control that. The more you tell them what not to do, the more they want to do it.

So I say legalize MJ. Tax the piss out of it. Make a bundle. And put the same restrictions and penalties on it as we do all our legalized adult substances.

And let me know when this happens! Because I plan on taking out some extra stock in Doritos and those awesome little pretzel nuggets that you can't help but eat and eat and eat and eat...

If you are not being dishonest or blind you should know without being told right? But then again, maybe no.

I have no idea why I even respond to some of your posts, You run out of things to say but you're like a little kid and want to keep posting for the attention so you fabricate shit like this. Nothing like telling a lie that someone else told a lie just to make conversation.

Specifically What are you talking about me being dishonest or blind about ? Are you just trying to put on a show or do you really have a reason to tell me I am a blind liar ? Lets get to the bottom of that first.

I'm not condoning recreational use and especially for anyone under 21 years of age but for the sake of mankind take off the blinders look at the big picture of this issue just for a few minutes then you can go bury your head in the sand again.

Do you even realize that if people want to smoke weed and can't get any they go online or run to the store and buy synthetic marijuana ? Read up about it and pay close attention to the statistics , Deaths , pain and suffering caused by synthetic weed..

there is not one positive benefit for the consumption of corn whiskey.

https://www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/beverage/whiskey.html

Some of the health benefits of whiskey include its ability to aid in weight loss, slow down the onset of dementia, increase heart health, prevents and manages diabetes, boosts good cholesterol, fights against cancer, eliminates blood clots, strengthens the immune system. Generally, whiskey is one of the healthiest forms of alcohol available.

It isn't quite as good as Tequila for making ya bullet proof, but it's pretty darn close!!

GST has some great points, so don't discount him because he is long winded and very questiony..

I say something needs to be done, cause locking people up for minor weed charges is not fixing anything, and taking what might be otherwise good people and making them a criminal.

There has never been a recorded death (overdose) from Marijuana in any form, ever. Cigarettes, Alocohol, smartphones for God's sake. Get over it. Colorado has taken in more tax revenue from Cannabis than ALCOHOL. Times are a changin' and the stigma is proven to be bullshit.

Like offered before, you SHOULD move to Colorado and be a tax-paying citizen there:
1) Unemployment is up because nobody can get a job with it in their bloodstream, legally or illegally. Employers still have a right to refuse your employment.
2) The human services sector quadrupled in applicants with no money to go around. Those programs are flat broke.;
3) The state of colorado had to hire so many people they can't keep money in the coffers to fix roadways & bridges;
4) Police forces had to go up in strength to handle all of the low crime losers that came flocking to the state to get high;
5) Jails everywhere are filled beyond capacity... you guessed it, more employees. Labor is the highest cost factor, isn't it?;
6) Peach farmers are now concerned that pests, mold, and fungi can invade their orchards;
7) Increases in emergency room visits up 57% and hospitalization is up 82%;
8) High school grades decreasing with teens hiding 'edibles'; school expulsions are on the rise;
9) Highest homeless population has exploded;
10) The black market MJ didn't disappear, as they thought would be the case. It's not competition with lower prices;
11) Healthcare costs treating MJ-involved accidents, dependence triples the average rate of stay when compared to alcohol, heroin, or cocaine;
12) DUI for MJ doubled in 2012
13) Insurance rates for vehicles has gone up 10%-18% since 2012 = more accidents since 2009

Colorado needs more taxpayers to funnel money into its coffers to keep the businesses flowing MJ to the consumer.

Why would they need to run to the store and get bath salts to get high if weed is not addictive?
I have run out of whiskey, and never ran to the local stop n go and bought up a bunch of rubbing alcohol to get drunk.

Gst I think the differnce between your stance and many others is you think that this would be a new problem, where others as myself feel it's allready here no matter what so why not make the best out of it. In your part of the state it might not be as common but I'm pretty sure in Bismarck, Fargo and most of the US any one could buy it fairly easy if they wanted to. I would be curious to know after legalization in Colorado how many people who didn't allready habitually smoke pot started.

Need and want are two different words with two different meanings, I said want-you said need . My point is read up on synthetic weed.

Davy, contrary to your apparent assumption not everything I post in these threads is aimed specifically at you.

You should know by now after 72 pages if I think you are lying I will call you out specifically enough to know I am talking directly to you by quoting what your lie was.

So to put it bluntly
I have not called you a liar in this thread nor accused you of being blind. Those comment were not directed at you.

Perhaps pot might allow you to relax a bit.

whiskey can be a great birth control tonic (i.e. pushing rope)

unfortunately it can also add branches to the family tree that might not have been there without it.

I am not naive enough to think pot usage is a "new" problem. I could have a joint in about 10 minutes if I wanted to.

Being able to buy and use candied forms of it legally would be a "new" problem here as it seems to be in Colorado.

Unless young children showing up in the ER with overloads of pot in their system from eating candied forms of weed is a problem here.

Wow, this turned into a doozy. I read more than I post, but had to chime in. I smoked pretty much all through college and guess what, I graduated with a mechanical engineering degree with a high GPA...not patting myself on the back, but not everyone who smokes is destined to ask if you want to up size your order.

In a round about way, GST is correct in stating that it is a gateway drug the way things are now with it being illegal. Guess who offered me and my buddies the much harder stuff when all we wanted was a little sack...yep, the same guy we got the weed from. Typical hey you like MJ, you'll love this. Well, needless to say I was exposed to much more than MJ and am ashamed to admit it. My very good friend who was studying to be hopefully a Doctor got so wrapped up in meth that at 40 years old his teeth are rotted out and he is not a doctor. My point is, if we could have gone to the store for what we wanted, MJ, we wouldn't have been exposed to the harder stuff. Would my buddy have gotten into it anyway? Never know, but I know how he did get into it.

Kids showing up with it being a big thing in denver is laughable. My sister isn't into smoking it but it very pro legalizing it. Oh and she's also a pediatric doctor in Denver.;:;blahblah

GST have you ever smoked the stuff? I have years ago. I don't smoke myself, I do know others that do and lead a very productive lifestyle. I think it's all people dependent. There are people that are able to drink and lead a normal lifestyle, then there are people that are full blown drunks and a drag on society. I get where your conservatism brings in many questions of what if's and what will happens. In the end, the war on MJ can't be won. It's better that kids are educated (in the right way) about MJ and what it's potential effects are. You can't have a person that has no experience with the stuff spouting off garbage to these kids, brainwashing them with ill-advised mumbo jumbo. That's just repeating those videos from the old days where they said if you smoked the next thing you know, you'd be out raping and pillaging. Educate the people, with the truth not fear and opinions.

Just don't mix soda in your whiskey and you will be good. Soda is way worse than any alcahol. That's what I have my whiskey on the rocks.

10 minutes! You must have some plants growing out in your pasture!

I agree with the edibles. Eating it makes it harder to control the effects vs smoking. A good reason legalizing/ controlling makes sense.

It was the first sentence in a direct quote to me , I guess maybe I read too far into it. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt , Fair ball.
