Heater for pop up shelter

I am new to site and this is first post. Will a mr buddy heater be enough heat for the 949i ice shelter. Thanks

depend on how cold it is out.
Last year we had the big buddy in my 949I and on a cold windy day it was not enough.
Made my want a double flower for those days

Should be more than enough. I use a big buddy in an uninsulated 949 and can stay comfortable if the house is banked and the wind isn't crazy

Sunflower heater works fine. I recommend one that mounts on the tank tho. It don't melt the ice and make it slippery.

I used for the first time this year the buddy heater(single burner) in my quick fish 3, kept up great the 3 times I have been out. It hasn't been real cold yet though, I have my sunflower head in the ranger just incase I need more power.

I think you should be fine.
Like kickemup said, they melt the ice and make a slippery area that a sunflower head does not do.

I have the exact same set up. most days it will be more than enough and can turn it to low even. I have fished on 1-2 occasions windy and cold as hell that my holes were still icing over slowly so I have 2 buddy heaters now. rarely use the 2nd but have it in case I need it.

I use these in my popup, works great. Keeps the ice from melting under the big buddy and you won't slip and fall either and your feet aren't on the ice. :;:rockit:;:rockitI usually make a T pattern in the tent with them of some sort.

If you set it on something more than 6 inches from the ice, it won't happen. But then your feet might get chilled.

I run the big buddy and have never needed more it is on low most of the time.

I use a single sunflower and usually only keep it on low. I do not have an insulated house, but seems to keep it plenty warm so far.

Can you set a Mr. buddy directly on these, or will it melt them? I just use a cheap rug right now to keep my feet off the ice but am looking fro something else that can also stop the Mr. buddy from creating a puddle.

Well my big buddy doesn't melt it. They work slick and pack up easy as well in the sled

Warning: Just make sure you pick them off the ice first as you pack up so they don't freeze to the ice under them!
