Actually kind of suprised that yar-craffs are that fast. Most look like a washtub with a motor.

Yes and notice there are nothing but Yarcrafts around a couple miles down the lake. ;)
That red 209 is fast, the second day he went past us. I asked him later if he had his partner wax his hull that night? He said "hell no I went and got a different prop!" ha ha ha

I was actually going to try and deal on it "gold one" up in Canada since our dollar is so strong up there but the add was old and it had been sold.
Talk about loaded to the gills.
On flat water that day 65-66. There is always somebody faster thou, like those guys that remap their 620s. They're allot faster.

Anything made from the 1895 Storm series to their current models aren't nearly so "tubby" as the previous models were.

I know that's right! Even with mine running low 70's, there's a couple other bass boats in ND that are pushing 80 mph. And I've ran against some other bass boats in tournaments down south that are nearly 90 mph on a tournament load!

2011 Ranger 621 with 300 Verado. No jack plate. My fastest run was by myself and pert near empty of fuel she hit 64.6mph on the GPS. Most of the time it's just a hair over 60 with 2 guys. A little chop speeds it up like most boats.

My 2000 Lund 1700 angler with 75 opti tiller cracks 33-34 on a good day. I hit 36 with it by myself with a current on the Red. When the wind blows, you just as well could pack some Irish Spring and and bottle of your favorite 2 in 1 shampoo as it is about the wettest ride on the lake. It is a great boat to fish out of on a river or small body of water, though.

My old boat was a 2009 Skeeter wx1880 with a stock 200 HPDI Yamaha. Alone it was a 58.5 to 59.9 mph rig fully loaded. With two guys it was a 56 to 57 mph rig. The best it has done was 62.7 alone and light on fuel and gear. I had a custom prop built for it and it had a 5" jack plate on it. Loved that boat. Hopefully I like the next one as much!

My next rig is a 2016 Nitro ZV21 with a 350 Verado. Not sure how it's going to run but I get it in the fall, after the pro staffer for Nitro is done with it. Then I will really start to tweek the setup. We'll have to see what I can do with it. I have a couple surprises coming for it.

2014 Ranger 620 with Verado Pro 250, kicker and no jack plate. With a reworked Rev 4 prop from Brainerd Props, I am at 65 MPH and with two guys loaded 61-62 or so. I am not sure I want to go any faster unless the area I am at is void of other boat wakes. Once the warranty runs out in 2019, I may want the ECU chip to go really fast. :D

Hey Vollmer, you remember this start? We were two boats over on the left of them... Had em outta the blocks for a bit, but they smoked us by about a half mile on the 25 mile run. Ouch! ;:;bowdown

We were running a WX2100 Skeeter w/ Yamy 300 and 9.9 kicker. No jack plate:(. Tops at 58. May try an increased pitch prop this summer, but may end up giving up too much outta d whole with that. Looked at a couple of diff jack plates, but a lil more $$$ than I care to spend.

The manual jackplates aren't too expensive. And it does greatly increase the performance of the boat. Both speed and handling. Holeshot included in most cases.

think i'd rather be water boarded than run 70+ in a bass boat on 1' chop... there is nothing only bout 55 mph on water...

i'd be shoppin for some depends with a reverse reservoir tip...

You wouldn't even notice 1 foot chop at top speed in my boat.

20 foot lund 75hp Honda tiller 28 to 30 depending on the load. if I could go 10 mph faster I would be happy, I do like only burning 8 gallons of gas on a 3 day weekend.

My last boat was similar in size and power. I had an '08 Tracker that was 18.5 feet with a 90 hp merc. I bet I could go almost an entire summer on one tank of gas considering all the lakes I fish in ND are pretty small. I really miss not living at the gas pumps.

My '98 Alumacraft Trophy 185 with a 135 goes faster than I can read the water. I cruise at about 30 mph as I can't see obstructions and other hazards in time to avoid them if I go any faster. The fastest I've had'er up to was about 46 mph with 6 inch chop and a stiff tailwind, one guy, no equipment, empty bilge/livewell/baitwell, and running on fumes.

1997 19' Skeeter with a mercury 150 black max and a 21 tempest usually does about 50, 47-53 depending on conditions.

And I don't know about you guys, but my boat goes faster when there's 3 fat guys, loaded livewells, and a full tank of gas in it, than when its empty and I'm by myself.
