Where will the blame game end? The gun salesman? The manufacturer? How about the guys who made the barrel?
If more comes out about this and the parents actually did some shady shit then I will agree. But to go after them for buying a pistol is opening up a can of worms that doesn’t bode well.
This part made me want to cry. This poor kid was schizophrenic and was begging to be stopped.
Then on the morning of the shooting, Ethan's teacher noticed an alarming note on his desk that contained drawings of a semi-automatic handgun, a bullet and a person being shot twice with the phrases "the thoughts won't stop, help me," "blood everywhere," "my life is useless" and "the world is dead" written throughout, according to McDonald.

The prosecutor said Ethan and his parents were immediately summoned to a meeting, during which they were told they were required to get their son into counseling within 48 hours.
At that meeting, the parents were shown Ethan’s drawing but portions of it were scratched out by Ethan beforehand, such as the drawing of the gun and bloody figure, McDonald said.
She noted that the parents resisted the idea of their son leaving school at that time and departed the building without him. He then returned to the classroom and hours later drew the weapon from his backpack and started firing, prosecutors allege.
Then when news of the shooting became public, Jennifer Crumbley texted her son at 1:22 p.m., "Ethan, don’t do it," McDonald said.
Fifteen minutes later, James Crumbley called 911 to report a gun missing from his house and that he believed his son might be the shooter, she added.
buying a pistol is not the problem. Not having it secured is the problem and is negligent. Time for parents to start taking responsibility for their kids. If they were parenting this would not happen.
Prosecutors charge parents of Michigan school shooter.
The parents were scheduled to surrender at 2 p.m. Friday for a 4 p.m. court appearance, but they have not appeared, according to a source briefed on the case. The sheriff’s fugitive task force is now looking for them and a (BOLO) “be on the lookout” has been issued. It’s not clear if it’s a mistake or they are on the run, the source said.
Sheriff just said on Fox News at 3:36 pm, that a ‘manhunt is underway for the parents.
I'm playing devils advocate here because I don't really know what the answer is to securing firearms within ones home....and maybe the below is a stupid analogy.
I had my house broken into and a suppressed pistol was stolen. It was sitting on my dining room table. If that gun is used to commit a school shooting, am I then negligent because it was not locked up? I would say the chances of theft from an unknown person are greater than the chances my kids will shoot a school up. Where/how do you draw the line of negligence?
My kids are still young, but at some point soon I will need to address the unsecured firearms in my home. Once the kids reach a certain age I am hopeful I can relax a little on gun security.
Growing up my dads guns were in a cheap wood cabinet with the key always located on the top. Nothing bad happened....Shit, at 15 years, old I had guns in my vehicle for hunting, while on school grounds.
The school said yesterday they did not see anything that warranted having Ethan Crumbley leave the school that day after the meeting with the parents.

They never said how it was locked up, maybe he found the keySupposedly the gun was locked up, how did the kid get ahold of it?
Both held on 500k bond. The defense attorney also said the gun was locked up. They also said the prosecutor refused to contact them after they reached out to her instead she decided to turn this into a media circus and a conviction on news and social media be. It has come out that this prosecutor Is a anti gun liberal and wants a conviction to put a notch in her belt for political advancement.
