My Williston rep that voted yes on part 2 or B whatever it was the first time will no doubt be a yes again. Trying to tell me it won’t affect shore fishing. I told him he better put his damn glasses in when he reads it

Sticking it to mom and pop in podunk is all this is doing. Maybe tax payers should save their cash? No reason to be neat, and get dicked. When I get fucked with $3000 in special assessments for a sidewalk, is it now mine to post? Or if my personal business insurance is costly, will my county kick in some cash to cover the bill? I guess I don’t understand getting and then getting more with gayness

Daryl Leis of ND Farm Bureau is on 550 AM now talking about a “ND Lockout” where landowners are vowing to not allow anyone but family, friends and nonresident hunters on their land if SB2315 fails. He claimed over 1 million acres have been pledged to be closed to hunters via this and another (name or org I missed) “lockout”.

The proponents must be getting desperate! Wonder if Fritz has been out helping his buddy Daryl gather lockout pledges?

I'm in the field planting. No time for this stuff. I did hear some orgs talking about giving away free posted signs saying something to the effect, "due to wildlife orgs refusal to negotiate on SB 2315, this land is posted."

I'm not there. But I do think members of DU and ND wildlife federation should be required to proudly display a decal in the window of their vehicle. Problem solved.

I told my rep if this passes you will see three initiated measures. Eliminate the corporate farming law. Eliminate the property tax exclusion for farm homes and the exemption for building permits for ag buildings.

Many do Fritz. How about Farm Bureau displaying in their windows so we know who hates us, who only respects our wallets, who thinks they have a right to rob then crap on us? Your wearing your crown to tight to think straight Fritz. Just a friendly suggestion from one of the pesents.

eyexer Im surprised the anti corporation farming law isnt unconstitutional. The tax exemption on farm homes is rediculouse. I pay some less living in the country because I'm missing many of the services that are in town, but farmers should pay the same as I do. What makes them more entitled than any other citizen?

These groups have the “strength in numbers” thing going for them.

How does the sporting community accomplish this? Political Action Committees? I’d happily cut checks, but to who?

Earth to eye,

1. ND Farm Bureau has been trying to eliminate the corporate farming law. You're welcome.
2. The ND legislature just adopted the IRS formula for the farm home exemption. See SB 2360. Passed.
3. Ag building permits? Eye, how many State employees do you think should be hired at taxpayer expense to push paper?

Eye, no one is going to carry your petitions. Your Rep. already knows this.

Don't forget to include the removal of the reduced sales tax they pay on equipment, parts, and other farm associated items.

I currently pay $2000 on my house and let's say you PG pay the same or $2000. But then I also pay $2000 on farm land. That's my $4000 against your $2000. PG, you like equality. See Senate Bill 2360.

Anyway, this tit for tat if we don't get our way, is a lot of silly talk.

Exactly. And maybe go over the state income tax form and start eliminating all them deductions relating to farming too. We don’t get those perks. And while we’re at it make them get CDL’s to drive their trucks. I’m sure there is more.

Another “we can do it but you guys can’t”. Maybe tell the pig racer to not be so petty.

I’ve heard and seen posters for special causes like this since I was a kid. Swamp buster and about every other little pet reason. Fact is the ones who post supposedly for this reason are the very same ones who post all the time anyway and rarely let people hunt there anyways. Except of course for their friends and family. So no change there.

My opinion is landowners in ND have never had the right to not post to keep hunters and fisherman out and not having to post has a value. For us hunters and fisherman who our forefathers who wrote it that way that right also has a value. So, if they want to not post, then they need to pay us something in return. In SD you can hunt ditches and section lines. So, how about a trade. Section lines and road rightaways allow hunting and you don’t have to post. Nothings free at Disney so fair is fair. Don’t get me wrong. I’d rather not go that route but this needs to be fair to all and we need to protect our future.

tit for tat you mean like threatening to post up the land if this bill doesn't pass.

So if I pay $ 2,000 on my house and $ 8,000 on a property I own in town to operate a business out of that is my $ 10,000 against your $ 4,000, Not to mention I have to pay full sales tax for equipment purchases. where is this equality you are talking about?

My rep said the same thing, to which I responded: “I’m not familiar with any of these “sportsman’s” groups. You know as well as I do that they’re front groups designed to provide political cover for bad lawmaking.”
