Scheels Bismarck

Well I normally or I guess problem never have commented on a business experience that was poor.

I purchased a Stevens 555E from Bismarck Scheels less than a week ago. I asked for a price match to Fleetfarm in Bismarck who had them for 129 dollars cheaper. They were fairly good about the situation and stated they could not match the price because I purchased a 16 gauge and Fleetfarm did not offer the sale price on the 16 gauge only the 12, 20 and 410.

I thought that was petty but decided to purchase the gun anyway. Scheels was still 10 dollars higher. I brought it to the attention of the manager that was double checking the paperwork and he turned red but said nothing! So I let it go.

Today I went back to the Bismarck Scheels to purchase a Mossberg 500 410. Sportsman Warehouse in Williston had them for 30 bucks less. I asked for the price match. I was told they have to add in FFL fee and shipping so it would be way more than 30 dollars cheaper difference. I was making a trip to Williston on Monday for other reasons so there would have been no shipping or FFL fee. I drove to Fleetfarm and bought one there for the same price.

I admit I got upset but the smart butt salesman at Scheels sarcastically said “ hope you have a nice day”.

Now the 30 bucks and 10 bucks on the two guns is not the point. It’s the principle.

Not boasting but I have purchased many I mean many, firearms from Scheels over the last several years not to mention fishing equipment, shoes, bbq grills and other sporting equipment.

Well they lost a customer maybe one of their best customers.

Scheels Bismarck has been my go to store for many years. No more.

Everything you were told about their price match policy was correct. They can't start making exceptions for one customer. Scheels does a lot of charity not mentioned to the public. This is one reason Scheels will always get my business. I am not an employee of Scheels, only a customer. Scheels will do just fine without ya.
