Everything you were told about their price match policy was correct. They can't start making exceptions for one customer. Scheels does a lot of charity not mentioned to the public. This is one reason Scheels will always get my business. I am not an employee of Scheels, only a customer. Scheels will do just fine without ya.

Scheels is most times a little more money then alot of places. But they are very convenient for me. Most things i want from there i want to hold, loon at and play with before i buy. Im good with that. If im not willing to pay there price or in no hurry to get somthing i can always order it cheaper.

My wife will often times do the price match or coupon stuff. Id rather order it if its that much cheaper and wait for it. Or pay the premium since they stock it locally. Service/ warranty especially with the Scheels card has always done me right.

I hate to say it but I can get just about anything outdoor related cheaper and to my door in two days for “free”.

Camofire closing was a pay raise for me

I still go into Scheels here in town every once in a while

Support & buy local!
clothes & footwear-try on for fit
guns & related-look over & check for size/comfort
optics-look through and check eye relief, etc
fishing-see what you are getting.
There's just something about touchy/feely the item before you buy it!
Plus, you don't have to fart around having to return via packing, shipping, & mailing costs
if you don't want to keep it.
Pay a little more to do the above, pay local people's wages, support families, etc.
And sometimes, you don't pay more anyway. Buy local!!

Have tried a couple times online to get them to price match without luck, something about an "authorized retailer." In store has worked every time but it's been a few years, maybe they have tightened up on it.

I just had them price match a couple shooting bags last week from Amazon...Easy peezy...just put the item in your amazon "cart" show them the cost along with any shipping and the write it up. Saved about $30.

I've had the GF store price match many times. Guns, ice house, kids sports equipment, etc.

Yeah, one of the items I tried to have them match online was on Amazon, but from another retailer through the Amazon site and they said no. Guessing they would have said yes in store

A few years ago I asked if they'd price match Cabelas on a garmin unit when cabela's was clearly liquidating them. They said they couldn't because their cost was more than that. That answer made perfect sense to me and I bought the unit from Cabelas. No harm no foul. Just because they don't want to price match doesn't mean their being crooks or anything, it's a business decision.
