Fall of 2011 will remain a vivid memory. Absolute best fishing I've ever had and the majority of it occurred at 11 p.m., pitch black, and raining. Get done at 1 a.m., play pinochle and drink whiskey til one of us fell asleep at the table, and then do it all over again. Now, I'm just hoping to get a couple bites.

bluefin, I'll be in the little green lund tiller with an older yamaha on the back.

I was up there a week ago. Hot bite right where the overflow spillway carved a new channel. Bite started around 6 pm. Go deep early then move a bit shallower as the evening progresses. Bigger fish come later.

I've been hitting the chutes about once a week and its been dead all year. I think in 6 trips I've caught 4 walleye, 6 catfish, 4 pike, and 8 paddlefish. Downriver has been a different story, limits of walleye with a little effort down stream a few miles.

I'm probably gonna go tonight since its a full moon and give it another try.

I didn't believe it either, until my buddy took me down there. About 7pm 6 other boats showed up. They all know the "secret" I guess.

Nothing real big, but lots of nice eaters. One of the old guys that hangs out down there said the bigger fish come out after dark.

Once the headlamps get broken out, the fun begins. The only downside is looking out for shore fisherman. I don't mind bouncing out around their path but there's sometimes you just don't see them.

It's sketchy when you look over and there's someone 10 feet from you on shore with their light off.

You mean when you're trolling along and looking very intently at your electronics and you hear a cough to your right, no more than 10 ft away. Damn near filled my bibs two falls ago.

Is this some coded queer thing, or are you guys actually fishing?

Sounds a bit suspect.

Today I self identify as a straight man, and decline your request. However someday I may self identify as a queer, or bi-curious, and then I may join your shenanigans.
