We have waited long enough for the "right" solution, just eliminate it at this point, its all just a shell game to grab more money from you.
I just heard on the radio that the month of May ND took in an additional 29 million in oil revenue because of the price of oil going up.
That's just neat, pack that away in the legacy fund and jack up our property taxes to pay for everyone's free lunch, and all the other socialist communist funds we now give to the "needy". We working tax payers just have to pay our "fair" share.

And the legistlature will never cut spending or funding, when was the last time that actually happened?
Forcing their hand would hopefully make them cut spending, and the free lunch program and busing should be the first out the door.

I agree, I don't like taxes either. My point is somebody needs to get involved and write a bill with a Straight foreward prognosis that the majority will embrace. Legislature doesn't have a good track record of helping reduce taxes , and the majority of them do what THEY want ,what makes you think that has changed ? They need to be forced to comply with a well thought out plan. It's as simple as that, and the ONLY reason that poorly written bill failed.

Iv'e never signed a document in my life that I am bound to by law and have no idea what it contains. I don't feel a bit bad about that.

Here's a thought: Each county, instead of sending the current property tax bill to us citizens, send the tax bill to the state. For example, Burleigh County would send a bill to the state for 1.7 billion dollars this year. Last year it would have been 1.6 billion. Maybe someone at the state level could get Burleigh County to justify why they need $100 million more each year. Gotta get the spending under control.

So who is going to write this bill you speak of that we will all embrace?
The legislature?
The legislature is the problem, not the solution, they have had plenty of opportunity to get it done and get it done right, and it just doesn't happen. And now we need to fund free lunches for everyone to the tune of 160 million, which is probably low.
We the people need to say enough is enough and eliminate property taxes on our own, and then the dummy socialists that supposedly represent us can maybe start making choices of what to cut and eliminating waste.
