So true story. I used to visit with Tom Kelley every couple weeks back when he managed the twins. He frequented the place where I worked fairly often. I was talking to him after the World Series and I asked him what jack morris said when he went to the mound that last time. He told me jack said “I’ll cut your nuts off if you pull me” lol

That was awesome for the Twins.
So many good pitchers and hitters these days. They can't bank on the Ace getting them through much more than about 5 innings. Hitters advantage after seeing 3rd time around.

Does seem like a very different game nowadays. Charlie Liebrandt was throwing about 85 when Kirby took him deep to end game 6. Now even starters that don't throw 95 are practically considered soft tossers, and you're kind of surprised to see a reliever that doesn't throw 98. Was nice to see Milwaukee put together that big inning last night with singles and doubles.

Yeah pitchers now days are pampered and shelved after about 90 pitches and they still seem to get hurt more often now days. Problem is they don't know how to pitch anymore they just throw heaters all the time.
That's part of the story, I agree. But with today's Sports Science, AI analysis tools, nutrition, etc. we're building specialized machines, starting at very early ages. IMHO we're pushing the limits of what human anatomy can handle and seeing the results - limits on how many pitches an arm has before something breaks, rest between appearances to recover, increased injuries. And it's not just fastballs that do the damage - guys throwing crazy off-speed stuff at a high level will do just as much.
