I don't mind North Stars or Force. (I was actually one of a handful of people that submitted the name for the Fargo Force and got a bunch of merchandise and free season tickets the first year.)

I don't mind just North Dakota either, but when you're at a hockey game and they announcer says "Here's your University of North Dakota score-ing!" it just doesn't sound right.

The only one on the list that has ANY historical connotations of toughness is the "Rough Riders". Hockey is a rough sport and the Rough Riders did the job they went to do. If I had to choose one, that would get my vote.

All hawks are birds, but not all birds are hawks... WTF is your point? Eagles are still better than hawks (meaning having the work 'hawk' in their name, because hockey players sure aint f'n birds anyway), even tho technically they may be one. Midgets are funnier than Giants also, even tho they are all homo's....
