Any numbers from Day 1?
Any info for day 2? Would a figured there had to be a few members here that fished it.
We were the team that was lucky enough to win the tournament, prefishing was tough with the calm weather, so we woke up Friday and just decided to "go fishing", we went out to a spot we knew from the past was good with a south wind and we were the only boat in that spot. We had 5 fish by 8 oclock and had 2 over 24" and a 26-3/4" using live bait rigs. By 10 am we had 7 fish and our smallest was 21-1/2" and we did not get an upgrade the rest of the day. Day 2 we went out to the same spot just hoping to get 5 fish and around 15 lbs hoping to finish in the money, we started out the day with a 23-1/2" fish right off the bat, followed by a 15-1/2" and a 16-1/4" fish that we weighed. another 2 hours of beating up that spot got us 2 more over 20" and we decided to go pull cranks hoping to get a better fish so we headed up and pulled cranks just north of the boat ramp. We got a 19-1/2" fish but nothing else so we went to the NW corner and tried in there for a bit but it was a busy spot so we headed to Whiteys hoping to get 2 more over 20", and if anyone was out there it was chaos on Whiteys so we made one drift and headed to our spot about 3/4 mile away. We made 3 drifts and got a 21-1/2" and a 21" and that got us 5 fish over 20" which we were very happy with and that was at about 3:00. We didn't think that it would be enough as there are so many good fishermen in this tournament but we were lucky enough to hold on. Can't say enough good things about everyone involved in this tournament, whether it's the guys fishing it, or the workers that put it on. We caught all 10 fish that counted towards our weight within 400 yards of each other, right place at the right time I guess!!
