i am no doctor but I believe it's a much easier, less chance for complications etc. procedure for men so I can see why most couples decide to go that route. you literally make it sound like you do nothing and she does everything. cook that poor lady supper tonight ;)

You see this story has much more to it, and I was able to put a few "facts" in the rebuttal too. Such as; You see according to the latest Duke study, about 10% of all vasectomies turn to impotence, and of course you know my luck, I would for sure be in that 10%. Also sometimes it doesn't take, and we for sure didn't want more kids, and then there is the loss of testosterone, coupled with weight gain, and terrible mood swings that this process causes most men. I guess if this is what you want to put us through I am willing to take the steps, but it really only makes sense for you to take this one, as I don't see the huge potential issues with the woman going through it.

Its knowing how to sell it, I am likely completely full of crap, but I can sure sell it to her....haha

I take great care of mrs johnr, I would do anything for her, and actually have a time or two. It just was one of the few battles I was able to convince her to see things my way.

I made pheasant fajitas last night for her, while she was attending some class at DSU. She is getting smartened up, and this scares me a bit, she will soon be able to see through my "salesmanship". haha

Doing whatever a guy wants at all times isnt a bad gig. I do love kids though and would like one to spoil with hunting and fishing outings galore. Would it be possible for a single man to adopt a child and then just continue with promiscuous encounters and relationships with the opposite sex yielding little to no risk of having to ever be under thumb of a court ordered child support payment contract?

Two friends and a brother all went in within the last year. All three were asked if their wife was aware of their current location and plans. Might be a clinic specific thing too.

I had to go to Jamestown(I live in Bis) to get mine done. Dr. asked if I was sure I wanted it done and set a appointment to do it. They may ask if both parties want it but I'm sure they would do it as long as you want it.

There is always two sides to every story. I have paid Child support for many yrs. I know what my exwife does with the money. Theres not much I can do about it. She pays his cell phone and car insurance and helped him buy a nice car, buys his clothing puts a nice roof over his head. Is it worth what I pay?? YES Everyone has to look at it both ways. He drives up to see me most weekends and I pay for his gas all the time and still send him home with spending money. I dont have to but thats what a parent does. Dont look at it as paying the enemy look at it as your helping YOUR CHILD.

Fighting Sioux: Just wondering if the court system had'nt required you to pay child support would you??

Why are you taking care of the child??? It appears your step daughter is just as much to blame as the father.

We had a guy at work that after he paid his child support and the child's insurance his take home pay was around $100.00 per week, how is anyone supposed to live on that while his ex lived in their house with her new boyfriend.

A friend I had from High school that married a gal with 2 children and they received child support from her ex. He was an engineer and she was an administrator at a nursing home so money was not an issue. One day when we were fishing at Tobin the subject came up and I asked if they were putting the money aside for the kid's education and he told me that the child support they received was enough to make their two vehicle payments. He also said that they were owed that money because he was not responsible to raise someone else children, which my response was yes you are she had the children when you married her so you accepted the responsibility. I thought I might have to walk back to ND because although we were in my boat we used his pickup to get there.

Until both parents incomes ( and that includes their new spouse ) are used to determine the payment one parent will usually receive the short end of the straw

YUP! And the dad has kids with others and just kinda works, so none of his kids get the father or financial support they should from him. So, my choice was to let this wonderful innocent little boy live that kind of life or give him a chance at a better one. I'm hoping someday the parents step up to the plate but until then I'm not going to let this child live that kind of life.

So, that's probably why my feelings towards those not providing financial or father support is a bit harsh.

And..... To all of you fathers (and mothers) who don't have custody, pay your support, and provide the best parental support you can... MY HATS OFF TO YOU!!!

I don't know much about adoption but you could always mentor or be a big brother to a less fortunate lad, There are so many that don't have a dad to take them hunting and fishing.

Don't get me wrong I played it up as much as I could infront of the wife. Honestly the procedure itself is less painful than going to the dentist. Minus the fact there's a dude messing around with a nife down their!

You see my twig and berries are shy, and would be unwilling to allow such activity, unless the dude was actually a hot chick...haha
