They have a learning curve to tune but it isn’t bad after awhile
IMHO: You don't need the leader bullshit:Suffix 832 in hi vis green
I feel like the color doesn’t fade as fast as PP and is a more natural color than yellow . I run flouro leaders on my jigging rods. 10# on everything seems to drag enough snags to the surface. Power pro works great too. Both strong even when taking a beating. I hate line twist too so I have the bait shop spool all of my line on the spinning reels. Haven’t used any other braid since switching from fireline.
I do run 15# power pro on my crank rods
I hear this a lot but find them easier to tune then other cranks. Probably because I crank very little until the fall and then my experience is very similar to eyexer’s postsReef runners can be bearcats to tune but can be pretty deadly. Used them a lot up at Tobin.
Those don’t typically go out of tune due to the location of the eyeletThey run fine with a BC outfit from the bank (shallow runners) at the Swim Beach in October.
This in orange/yellow:
The little tuning tool they make for them is really nice but of course I lost mine very soon lol. So I just use my teeth lolI hear this a lot but find them easier to tune then other cranks. Probably because I crank very little until the fall and then my experience is very similar to eyexer’s posts
So far I’ve been able to do it with a needlenoseThe little tuning tool they make for them is really nice but of course I lost mine very soon lol. So I just use my teeth lol
You don’t want to use barrel swivels on the line with cranks. Especially running them deep. Just tie the line straight to a duo fast snap.IMHO: You don't need the leader bullshit:

I can never find mineSo far I’ve been able to do it with a needlenose
About time for the price of them! Didn’t buy them for that simple reasonReef runners now come hand tuned. That is all.
Yeah I never used a leader a decade ago and still caught fish, but I never used hi vis line either. Still feel weird using hi vis. It’s so nice for jigging / snap jigging on finicky bites to see the line drop and hit slack.IMHO: You don't need the leader bullshit:

I love the strength/diameter of braid. It's allowed me to treat my spools like fly reels.Yeah I never used a leader a decade ago and still caught fish, but I never used hi vis line either. That don’t matter. Catching a decent sized fish usually knocks em out of tune. Always check how they’re running before you let them all the way out.Reef runners now come hand tuned. That is all.
? They one of the cheaper cranks asideAbout time for the price of them! Didn’t buy them for that simple reason
If you use bbl swivels and Sharpies There is no "Hi-Vis" at the bait. Braid can also retain scent IMHO:Yeah I never used a leader a decade ago and still caught fish, but I never used hi vis line either. Still feel weird using hi vis.
