I know a fellow who purchased the new Ford with auto drive. From Jamestown to Bismarck one day he used it and I don't think his wife knew. He has a terrible time staying awake. Upon arrival in Jamestown his wife said " that went well". He didn't tell her he slept half the way.
Which vehicle is this? I have a new F-150 Powerboost with Bluecruise. It does drive itself but it does not let you sleep. There's sensors in the dash that watch your face. If you close your eyes, alarms go off. If you look in any direction other than straight forward, alarms go off. I tried to wear dark sunglasses and it could still tell if I closed my eyes.

It was a 90 day trial and then $50 a month after. I did not renew it since it really only works on the interstate. You can put lane assist on and then put something heavy on the steering wheel such as an ankle weight to mimic holding it and it will also drive itself. But again, you have to keep looking forward. It will even catch you looking at the screen if you are changing music or looking at mapping.

wonder if the Interstate will be more dangerous during white out conditions ? last couple of storms , people stopped in the right driving lane VS pulling onto the right shoulder.

Fuck this^^^^:

No real reason for the nth time. Also, until shit unfucks; I won't own anything past '09. '09 has enough "spy wear". That is all:

I test drove a new Toyota recently. It was a nice ride, right up until I wanted to try and figure out the infotainment system. All I wanted to do was switch it over to FM radio and it had me cursing Toyota right up until I turned around at the Menoken exit on I-94.

I may have been distracted by the sight of not one, but two clear drug busts going on within 3 miles of each other on I-94, but I did give the salesman an honest review of the infotainment complexity. His response "they're pushing people to tie their phone into the radio". Last time I checked, we weren't supposed to be playing with our phones while driving. I also refuse to purchase a SiriusXM subscription.
Allen pairing your phone to your vehicle allows you to drive hands free via Bluetooth, curious what engine you tested? My 2022 colorado needs to be replaced, boo too miles, dang GM phased out the v6 on they're trucks 2.5 4 is a pos, gutless and issue with the 3lit duramax diesel on the colorado so eyeballing the Toyota, after 20+yrs with GM this is hard to swallow..

It's only if you have bluecruise or lane assist on. If you're not using those features, you can look around all you want.

Snow, the only engine options in the 4Runner lineup is the turbocharged 2.4L four cylinder and the hybrid, which I think uses the same actual engine. Mine has the old 4.0L six cylinder and while the HP ratings are near identical, I thought the little 4 banger was quite snappy. It was new in the 2025 model year, which is one of the reasons I waited until the 2026 models came out to really start shopping. It also has their new 8-speed transmission, which was pretty smooth shifting. Overall, I really liked the new 4Runner with the exception of their infotainment system. I suppose a guy would eventually get used to it though.

Thanx allen, dang 4 banger,GM 2.5lit is really over rated they push Hp equivalent to the v6 but fail to highlight @5000 rpm's vs 3k on the v6. Im not a fan on new mechanical upgrades especially engines and tranny 's but thanx for chiming in guess I'll consider f.o.r.d gee's that hurt

This...is something worth considering!
I have done this multiple times... We have sirius in multiple vehicles. One of the "lines" is actually from about 14 years ago back when they offered the lifetime subscription for $500... fine print says you can only transfer it to new head unit/vehicles like 3 times... Mines been transferred at least 6 times.. They charge me like $50 to do it each time, but the service is still free anyways...

All our other vehicles that have sirius I have to call them every year or two and tell them to cancel the service... when I do they drop the price usually down to anywhere from $3-$7/month... When you call, just tell them you are canceling because you already pay for a streaming service like spotify or prime music so there's no point in having Sxm and they'll usually skip the fucking around and go straight to the lowest price they can offer.

I wonder if the Bismarck Tribune is owned by Sirius? Last summer I got an email from them saying my $14.99/month subscription was going up to $49.99. I called them to cancel and after no fewer than three iterations, they came down to $9.99/month.

If I had to guess, the call center my call was directed to was in India or Indonesia.

Note, I have Amazon Prime...I should probably look into their music stuff.
