Holy hell. I haven't had a soft boiled egg since I was in Grade School made by my great grandmother.

I mean. It's really easy lol just boiled an egg for 5 minutes in salty water then pop into an ice bath. Easy peasy.
OK--do you boil the water then add the egg or boil the water with the egg? This is amusing AND embarrassing as I've posted a "hundred" threads about frying them.

Get the water to a rolling boil then add the egg. It'll over cook if you start it with the eggs already in.
And don't be embarrassed. I was a chef/cook for over 5 years. Im still learning things even now lol

Isn't it like bacon grease where it solidifies after it cools or do you keep it warm?
