world's largest and toughest rod and tackle storage is now my bench seat (I added closed cell foam padding)

attached to the two tip-up otter seat bars

folds up to access inside sled

detaches with bungies - of course

if fishing with someone I use the original bucket seats

look closely at the folded down bench seat pic - see the 1.5" (I think?) hole drilled in the otter sled lip at lower left?

You can drill holes in the lip all over the place - they are perfectly good rod-holders - just cheat to the outside of the lip so that bottom of rod handle has room to tilt toward the sled and rod can tilt out - distance is infinitely adjustable by how far down you lower it before you tilt tod

no fish on earth will pull a rod out of there either

if you don't like where you put the hole drill another one - why not six more - I have yet to find a reason why holes matter in the lip of an otter sled

I also installed lights inside and outside just under the lip- powered by one of these - that lasts all year - or is a great backup if you screwed up and forgot to charge something else

Very nice guywhofishes

Very nice guywhofishes, I really like the ice rod hard case but for 150$, I would really like to make my own.
I think you should draw me a diagram of the inside of the rod locker case and all the dimensions of the foam inserts. That way I can make my own custom set up.

Any side by side owners have a picture of what you're using for carrying your auger?

Can't believe those rods don't get too hot under the hood like that. Very nice #guywholikesmods

My thoughts exactly, guywhofishes does the engine heat effect the ice fishing rods? It seems to be a genius way to set up for run and gun ice trolling.

the golf club tube liners have no sign of melting - if that soft polyethylene hasn't melted I think it's going to work out fine for rods, guides and line.

Notice that I did wrap a section of the one tube with aluminum duct tape (the kind for high temp sealing of dryer vents, etc.) where it passed a few inches close to the muffler

this sled is axial fan cooled so I think that helps in idling or slow travel conditions where liquid cools can get hot

I was wondering if anyone has seen these set ups up close and if so would you recommend on buying. These run 650$ vs tracks 1500 to 2500$
I guess just looking for some research on this product.
