Anyone else experiencing Deja Vu!!
Don't pummel me. I'm not a dyed in wool slot fisherperson. IMHO, it's just a matter of reversing the slot for a few years. It's time to bring in the trophy money. Tim would have this down to a science.

dean, its not that simple, infact when your verse is brought up at the many round table meetings I've attended over the years your seen as a racist, say one word against the tribes gill netting and they pull the race card pronto, and yes "tribes" the real issue at hand is the 6 tribes that are pillaging mille lacs during spawn without any reqard to the health and welfare of our walleye population/conservation,they have been bringing in tons of walleyes every spring for 15 years and now the lake is on the verge of total collasps, however in 2012 and 2013 we had lake ice out and very few nets out except@ the mouth of some feeder streams, the results has been/are two solid year class of walleyes, our dnr calls it a fluke,so today we have a 1 walleye daily limit and the entire lake community is drying up which we feel is the very goal of the tribes as they are buying up all land they can on the lake for pennies on the dollar with casino money and also state/federal funding...now I'm pissed off again!dangit!
As far as I'm concerned they lost their right when they sold that fish to restaurants like they did at Red Lake.dean, its not that simple, infact when your verse is brought up at the many round table meetings I've attended over the years your seen as a racist, say one word against the tribes gill netting and they pull the race card pronto, and yes "tribes" the real issue at hand is the 6 tribes from wisc that are pillaging mille lacs during spawn without any reqard to the health and welfare of our walleye population/conservation,they have been bringing in tons of walleyes every spring for 15 years and now the lake is on the verge of total collasps, however in 2012 and 2013 we had lake ice out and very few nets out except@ the mouth of some feeder streams, the results has been/are two solid year class of walleyes, our dnr calls it a fluke,so today we have a 1 walleye daily limit and the entire lake community is drying up which we feel is the very goal of the tribes as they are buying up all land they can on the lake for pennies on the dollar with casino money and also state/federal funding...now I'm pissed off again!dangit!Total of 8 tribes gill netting, our Mn ojib's were never an issue until this 1837 treaty deal.

Dean, point taken, infact I'm surprised we have''nt had blood shed by now or at least a rifle slug thru a outboard during the night when they are conducting operations.
eyexr,The out come on operation "square hook" which took 2yrs to complete with thefedsin the fore front(usfw) let the trible members off and turned them over to they're trible court system which resulted in a slap on the hands and business as usuall, the feds then slamed the non native business folks for buying the fish and claimed the only reason the natives netted and sold fish is because they had buyers.$1000's of $$$ in fines to the non natives

ps~ one of many landings around the lake~then they dump fish for all to see, some cleaned some not, then we have lost gill nets because of shifting ice killing more walleyes,.pike ,musky,perch...
[/QUOTE That's like saying the only reason so many Natives have issues with alcohol is because someone is willing to sell it to them. Stupid ass feds. Is my understanding not correct in that the state DNR has ways to shut them down but chooses not to do that? If that's the case, which I understand it to be, then heads need to be spinning in St. Paul.
