Went paddle fishing for the first time ever today. Drove 3 hours fished for half hour, snagged our two drove home. Might have to try it again. I know it won't happen again but my buddy knew where to go and made it easy.

Find an eddy because they hate curent and will stack up on the breakline. They can get to be a real pain in the ass when pitching jigs around bismarck some years.

Just looking on Google if I had a boat i would be about a mile downstream of the ramp on the east side. There is a group of jettys down there and odds are high they are stacking up in the eddys behind them.

Damn. Was hoping to sneak away for a little while next weekend. Congrats to the lucky fisherman.

Here's my 3 cast wonder. First cast I snagged a tree and lost the rig, second cast was a whiff, third cast connected with this 66 lber. It's not quite a 132 lb new state record, but I think my backdrop is hands AND feet above his. LOL!! Not upset with the fish in any way, but I think I kind of missed out on the whole experience so I consoled myself with a couple cases of blue num nums and a bottle of Capt. Morgan. The trip was a rousing success on just about every angle: Beautiful weather, lots of fish, excellent food, great friends, newcomers to the sport being successful, and a bit of a sunburn for everyone. Enjoy!!!
