Davy, No, you never said that. Nobody other than the "let someone else pay for me" crowd has ever said "tax me harder". And, they only do it to annoy those of us with a reasonable understanding of how shit gets paid for that we all benefit from.

I am sorry that the money I've paid into the system didn't lower your property taxes (seriously!), because if I had a fugging choice, I'd much rather pay for lowering your taxes than the A-holes who bring this shit up all the fucking time. Hell, my property taxes were near $3k a couple years ago, and they are now about $1200 and change.

Life choices = life impacts. Move the fuck away from government services is my suggestion to those who don't like their property taxes.

I am neither well served, or paying exorbitant property taxes. Life is good if you're paying attention to the world around you.

JFC, if you were my tax person I'd have to fire you simply because I couldn't understand you. I am so glad I don't have that concern with my accountants and tax people. You can't possibly be this difficult to understand in real life. WTF!

Haha, I was going to lead obi on for a while and then respond about like you did.

Obi, I happen to own land in two townships , not a bunch of land but just happens that it's on a township line. One township has a very populated recreation lake and mostly solid timber and wetlands and the other township is mostly farm land. Acre for Acre, I pay WAY more taxes in the township with the recreation lake and expensive cabins than I am in the township with farmland.
I don't claim to know much of anything about city taxes other than I know what my boy pays in West Fargo and it's insane compared to mine. So there you have it. I'd be a bigger fool than you if I ever even came close to letting you letting you convince me to change my mind. We both know there is no such thing as free lunch.

The way the bill was written without a plan or prognosis was just nuts. I would be a BIG fool to give up what little rights and laws I have in my favor and flat out hand them to the state and take a chance that it will be justful ? Not a chance .

I don't know my limit, but what I do know is that there are more services provided to those that live in the ritz'ier neighborhoods than I live that I don't want. Hence my tax bill is lower because I don't live there.

There is absolutely nothing stopping one from moving to a lower property tax neighborhood. But living where services are greater than another place and bitching about the overall bill for those services is kinda like complaining about the price of a Big Mac.

Note, I don't eat at McDonalds.

Note 2, I live near Lincoln, ND. People have been flocking to Lincoln for quite a few years because of the generally lower property taxes, while electing people who think growth is the key to prosperity. Well, that shit is going to cause increased property taxes in the near future as more people equals more demand for services. Hence, their property taxes are going to skyrocket as they have had to install a new water supply line from Bismarck, AND they are going to install a sewer line back to Bismarck. You can't have new infrastructure for free. It's going to really piss off those who have lived here for years with relatively low property taxes.

Hell, when I moved here in 2012, Lincoln struggled to staff a police department of about 3 officers. Nowadays, that same PD is supposed to be around 7(?) officers.

I live rural and have to pay those expenses out of pocket if my septic field fails, or if I need a new well. Inflation is real, learn to prepare for it, or prepare to fail at life.
