Few boats in early

Saw a post from Parsons yesterday talking about the no Cull and fish limits. Sounds like yesterday he had to quit early while on a big fish bite. He shared his opinion on how he would prefer an AIM (Catch measure photo release) format.

I was just thinking a week ago about how every single person AIM, or others, has interviewed or shared their opinion about that format has liked it. I could see all large tournaments go that direction. I

t was always a big draw when the PWT would weigh in at the Civic Center in Bismarck and hoist the fish out of the well to show the crowd and soak in all the glory but you don't see that anymore. People follow the tournaments on the live leader boards and social media.

That coupled with the general public not happy about killing all the big fish (I know this is a release tournament but how many 24"+ fish are going to be well off after pounding waves for 2 hours). Eventually I could see the AIM format pretty standard

How does this co-angler stuff work. So you fish with a different pro each day and the fish you and your pro catch count toward the amateur total? So you could fish with a pro on a hot big fish bite day 1, then switch to some one who doesn't have it figured out and not cash a check?

I think deciding what fish to keep is a major part of ones strategy and makes the tourneys more interesting. Going to the AIM system on smaller tourneys would reduce cheating though.

All the warriors come standard with trim tabs so that isn't something you need to add. I would still had a jackplate if I were you and there are a couple reasons for that. The trim tabs are going to lose you about 2 mph. I prefished for this event with Brett King, Joe Okada and Robert Blosser all who are running trim tabs and all said the same thing about the speed loss. By running a jack plate it will help you to gain a little of that speed back and at the same time will help improve your fuel mileage. Then there is the shallow water improvements if you are ever fishing the river. Like I said they are phenomenal boats and on Monday we were in 6-8 ft waves in Brett's boat and I was truly impressed in the ride.

In laws just bought a 208 and it doesn't have trim tabs

It makes it more interesting and adds strategy, I wont disagree there. But I also see the side that ultimately, a fishing tournament should be won by the boat who caught or can catch the biggest set amount of fish that day or days. With no cull set up that isn't always the case.

That's how it works. You can't talk about what your day 1 pro was doing either.

they are Lenco trim tabs... you can buy them for about $390 on this site I'm sure warrior gets a bulk deal on them... Key is a flat transom... rangers cannot accommodate the tabs

I was quoted 900 by a dealer, I doubt they are too hard to install, I think I may need to invest in these!!

Correct, you take the weight from each day, with a different pro, and that becomes your weight as a co-angler. Lots of luck of the draw in that scenario.......one day you get 22 pounds with a guy who is on them and the next you get 5 pounds cause the guy was not on them and your total weight becomes 27 pounds.
