MINOT, N.D. - Minot's Home of Economy Gator Party kicked off Tuesday.
The store started stuffing and then cooking the alligator on a Traeger Wood Fired Grill around 5 p.m.
After a successful party in Grand Forks the local establishment wanted to bring the fun and good food to the Magic City.
"It's kind of a customer appreciation thing. It's fun, there's no charge. There's a lot of, there's enough food, I think, for everybody. Yea, please come down and we'll have a good time," says Scott Pearson, Home of Economy CEO.
The retail store will be cooking the gator all night. Staff planes to have it off the grill by 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and will begin serving samples at noon. gator+party+web+photo.jpg.

This sounds very intriguing. I'd like to see pics of the set up. Anyone planning on hitting this up?

Drove by there at 12:00. I think that they needed to cook a bigger gator. Guessing that there was over 300 people standing in line.

I have never had sex with an obvious reptile.

I was there. My wife got there at 11:30 and we were in line for 30+ minutes. You got only a little chunk of gator (similar to the free samples at Sam's Club). There was also pork loin, a little jambalaya, and brats. For free, it was good. They're trying to sell grills. Gator is like chicken, it was ok, but not as good as the gator I've had in Louisiana.

Here's a pic of the results.

I wouldn't wait for 5 mn in line for a bite of alligator. It's decent, but not really all that spendy if a guy wants to go get one.

Only time I had it it tasted fine but was really rubbery. I'm assuming that was more to do with the cook but he was full coonass so you would think he would know.

Does nobody remember the gator being stolen from the Minot zoo?

I don't remember a Gator being stolen, but I do remember hearing about a masturbating bear at the Minot zoo.

Heard the story of a guy taking and eating a flamingo. Never checked to see if true but it was an entertaining story.

I think the way it's cooked definitely makes or breaks it. I've had gator twice, once at the Minnesota renaissance fair...over cooked and rubbery but still not bad. The other was on an Alaskan cruise and it was to die for.
