Dang can't fix stupid. you would think if they were moving with any kind of speed the whole lower unit would be gone.

I would say they were negligent, but I also understand how quickly things can get away from you. I have actually taken my 12ft Jon boat over a 2ft dam when the anchor was caught up under a piece of tin... luckily it floats shallow and no damage was done other than to my pride. A 2 second glance in the which distracts you can land you in a heap of shit.

there's probably no difference between a 12 ft jon boat and 17 ft v-hull ...

Judging by the skeg, or lack there of, and the condition of the prop, hard for me to believe that the big motor was not running

Looked like a nice boat until today..... that current can really suck a guy in unless you got the big motor going you may not have a lot of time til it's too late. I have fished above the dams but never really thought what might happen if my motor went out..... I may rethink fishing like that after seeing this

Yep. And the operators were from Fargo

How do you know for certain they are not originally from Minnesota?

Either I was joking around it doesn't matter where they lay thier head down on a pillow. It would of been a different if the story didn't have a happy ending then I would not have made such a comment.

they should have just hooked a rope up to the ass end and pulled it off the rocks in the direction from whence it came. at the very least, they should've hooked a good rope up to it and taken it to shore with them so they wouldn't have to go back out to hook one up later. i am confused on why the boat recovery would be difficult. especially if they had a rope on it. in fact, that seems like it would have been the easier way to recover the boaters too. unless they were scared it would capsize once they started pulling it backwards.
