I don't shoot off a bench. Everything I shoot is off a bipod. Even my cheap Ruger Predator with an 18 inch narrel will shoot under an inch no matter how many shots you want to put into a group. I seldom shoot a ten shot group, but here is one from my Remington, in 308, with no butt bag rear support. Since I have cut this group considerably.

once you know your rifle you know your rifle. I would prefer a dozen three shot groups over time and more often than fewer ten shot groups. Most of my shooting is at four, six, eight, and ten inch steel. Three shots all on the eight inch at 800 yards are much better than that pic of my ten shot.
My problem is perhaps patience. I dont eant to burn out the barrel, and I don't have the patience to shoot ten shots slow.
