Chainsaw surgery usually doesn’t end well. Boots on the ground folks are the ones who matter most in the government organizations that we enjoy the most. Unfortunately the Doge cuts didn’t do much but eliminate the folks that actually did something. A scalpel taken to some higher ups would have been far more effective. Reap what you sow I guess.

There are several high use campgrounds and facilities in SD that will be closed. And no Dam tours anywhere it looks like.
exactly. Doge cuts were easy ones.

liberals for the most part don't camp, or use outdoor recreation, this is to punish a specific demographic. Just the same as when they had the budget resolution, so the government was out of funding, and they locked up all the touristy things in D.C. Was a direct attack to effect the specific group that uses these attractions.

What kind of bubble do you live in? Camping is not exclusively conservative. Campground closures are in more than just the Omaha district. Each memo signed by an active duty Army colonel who has a direct line to the Pres and DOD. This actually is black and white simple. There’s no employees. Would a privately owned campground operate with no employees? Reach out to our reps. I haven’t received a response yet.

But let’s just tell ourselves it’s all the liberals’ fault instead of acknowledging fault in our own party and improving. I think we’re better than that and not everything is us vs them.

Liberals glamp. Not too many manly, make it work, survive off the land democrats out there….. dont let the flannel shirts and beards fool you. They will be bothered by the slightest inconveniences not available such as water or electric. 🤷🏼 and while republicans can surely fuck things up, I have to say 90% of the things in this world that are entirely fucked you can usually trace back to a democrat……

Lincoln, kinda...
Hmm, I never once considered the possibility that Timothy Treadwell was conservative by nature.

You really need to get out of ND more. LOL!!
In the western states, the Trump flags are flying in the state parks with power and water and the backcountry backpackers or boondock campers out in remote areas, far out of of the way of conveniences, are the granola crunching "liberals" by a wide majority.

That's Correct! I'm not sure why anyone would think otherwise?

Tacoma’s and Subaru’s fill up the large majority of out of the way places I visit. Lots of granola and stink likely from the users with an even lower likelihood of seeing anything MAGA on them lol!

In all seriousness, the outdoors aren’t a liberal vs conservative fight. We’ll need everyone together to fight off dumb shit like the sale of public lands. It’s coming!

Im still having a hard time believing that most campgrounds don't turn a profit. Otherwise why would there be such a thing as KOA's or private campgrounds?

I have been called the bubble boy prior, so you are not off.

I really hate the smell of being wrong, but I guess today I stink..

Have you been introduced to our climate up here? True recreational campgrounds (not trailer parks or "man camp" type of parks for temporary workers) don't work well here.
Try starting a campground and turning a profit on something that might be partially open at best 5 months out of the year with maybe an average of 60% total occupancy on your best months from Memorial day- Labor day (with every year getting shorter with kids sports/ schools starting etc)
$35 per night camping pads wont even pay the interest on what you'd have invested.
