My main concern would be RTIC using my pre-order money to fund their defense attorneys from the lawsuit Yeti slapped them with over design. Especially if they go tits up or get nailed with a cease and desist before I get my cooler.

- - - Updated - - -

I just went to RTIC and hit "order" on the 65 quart. It says it will ship by 08/22/2016. I have taken a good look at them as I got a Yeti 20 qt roadie as a gift and I have really liked it. I want something in the 50-65qt range as well. That said, the RTIC business model doesn't give me a lot of confidence in their product or longevity to back it up. The rest of the quality coolers that compete aren't that much different in price, either. Stupid roto-molded cooler zoo.

I have a 30 oz yeti that I love drinking capt and cokes out of. I was doing some reading online talking about how the Ozark was comparable to the yeti. Had the wife stop at wally world and buy the last 8 they had. Will make good gifts!

Filled both up with ice tonight to see how they compare. The lids are interchangeable and the build seems similar.

SAMs has cups that look a lot like those. 2 for about $23.

WE FEST -- 2015 - we hauled a trailer with just booze down - rented a spot for it in VIP--The trailer was full of coolers two yetis and a range of other coolers The coolers with block ice survived - -- the yetis did not have block and failed. The Yetis are overweight, overpriced and overrated. The weight is the biggest factor imo - two people to carry them. When you get old you will regret the purchase. I dont know about you - but Beer and Coolers and Ice -- the first thing to run out is the BEER. If you run out of ICE you should be drinking wine as you are not qualified to drink beer.;:;boozer

Snow and Dry ICE: I had a lesson with Dry Ice when i was in college. We took some and added with regular ice and beer "bottles" - we drank fast but the dry ice froze up the cooler so that all the regular ice and beer became one clump. The bottles bursted and then it became one yellow clump. I didnt use dry ice again until i brought the kids up to ft stevenson for a four day stint and we had ice cream and popsicles in a cooler for camping.

i was surprised on thursday night with an early fathers day present as well - a yeti hopper 40... thought, well ok, thanks, but not really excited about it as some of the reviews i've read on the hoppers have been pretty neutral on the performance...

stopped at the roadside bulk ice vending machine on the way out of town at 4pm friday and filled the coolers for the weekend (this one room temp)... put 40#'s of bulk wet ice and about 8 cool beers in it and headed for dl... had ice cold beers at camp after fishing that night... left that cooler in the back seat till we broke camp bout noon yesterday, checking it a couple times per day, and threw it under the roll cover for the ride home with some beer still in it... got home last night and brought it in the garage and checked it... still lots of ice along with water... got home after work tonight and am drinking ice cold beer out of it still... would guess there is bout 10# of ice left inside along with the water... 3 days and counting, starting with dripping wet ice...

this thing has really impressed me so far, way better than i was expecting...

now on wednesday night i'm drinking my last cold beer out of the cooler... ice is gone but water still cold enough to turn the mountains blue... i'd guess bout 35*... :cool:

I picked up a few of those tumbler's at Walmart tonight. They are pretty nice. I can't wait until Walmart makes the coolers at 1/4 the price. I think the term is "economies of scale" :;:muahaha

I have the tumbler in the pickup all day today with ice cold water, we spend from 10 am until 7pm doing tourist destination shit all day. The cup sat in the pickup iced down through 9 hours of a hot cab, still had cubes in it when I got back to the camp site.
$ well spent

Wife got me a 30 ounce rambler for Father's day. Took a while to get here. It came from China? Anyways, it arrived today in devils lake and it hailed in killdeer last night. Coincidence? Not likely.
