So anybody have or had this? I've had it for 2-3 months and nothing has helped so far. Tried all kinds of stretching, heat, ice, over the counter pain meds and it just getting worse. Hate to have to go in to see a doc right now so I've been trying to put it off but not sure I can stand it anymore. How long does a shot last? Anyone have to have surgery?

chiropractor helps me, I have issues every two or three years. Dr. Britnell from Minot gets me going in a couple of visits.

Are you talking about lower back pain? Sleeping with a pillow between my legs when Asleep on my side had helped me. Physical therapy will also help.

I had mine flair up Bad at the D.L ice fishing tourney weekend!! Could barely walk at times. A buddy is a chiropractor which I hate going to and rarely do but thought i would try. Went in 4 or 5 times over the following 2 weeks and stretched religiously early in the morning and before bed and it went away. Felt it a couple times since, stretched and went away.

100% on chiropractor. Just because you had one bad experience shouldn’t stop you. There’s good ones and bad ones. I’ve been to several that weren’t worth a shit for my particular problems. Several have been great. I’ve seen the same two guys in a clinic now for several years. Get tuned up five or six times a year.

Went to chiropractor 20 years ago and swore it would be the last time. Not for me!
Just like doctors there are good and bad ones. Took me over 20 years to find a good one. No way I would not go to him when I have a problem. Best I have felt in a long time. No more lower back pain or neck pain. Many chiropractors are quacks. Just the way it is. But there are good ones out there.

Yeah, my pain is actually in my right hip and tingling down to my toes like my foot is falling asleep. Dr. said it's caused by pressure to the sciatic nerve in the lower back. I've slept with a pillow between my legs for a couple years now, definitely helped with my lower back pain but doesn't seem to be helping with this sciatica.

Take the billfold out of your back pocket when you are siting down.

I dealt with it for a few years, when I first hurt my back it was a bitch for about 6 months, the first few were brutal. if I sat still for 2 hours it killed me to get moving again, my right nut throbbing was like someone pinching it.. the clinic gave me a muscle relaxer to take at night and a commonly prescribed 'arthritis pill' that helped ( I only took for a short time).
the sad part is it takes a long time to heal from back injuries, and it's never the same.
i'm able to manage it with stretching, occasional chiro, and some yoga type stuff ( you'll look gay, but it helps ) and if I don't do it daily I notice the difference.. . depending on your injury their might be a fix, mine got better over time but I don't think i'll ever be 100% again, i'm about 70 % what I was before. it's been 3 years now, my back still gets tight like it never did before. stretch, stretch, gradually and gently use those muscles. if you go to a chiropractor and it doesn't seem to help don't be afraid to try a different one, I need one who 'does it like a man would'. meaning if your built solid and do manual work,it takes some muscle on their part to make you pop back in place. good luck..

It's not always an easy fix. I fought it for 7 years and it kept getting worse with PT and chiropractor. I finally ended up having surgery L4-L5 fusion and it got rid of almost all of the pain.

I've had the exact same thing for about 7 or 8 years now. Get yourself a yoga ball and do core exercises with it. It's the only thing that I found that can control the numbness in my leg. I had an MRI and nerve testing and the doc recommended I try core excercises before we look at more invasive treatments. It works for me anytime I feel it start to flare up I use the yoga ball for about a week and I'm good for a while. They are only 20 bucks so what do you got to lose.

Have you had an MRI?

An MRI is only as good as the person analyzing it, Plus they take them while your laying down with no weight on the spine. I had two MRIs and the results came back as slight but nothing real abnormal. I went to a chiropractor a few days after my second MRI and he took a couple x rays with me standing in different positions and he said there isn't much I can do and he asked if anyone had ever talked to me about surgery.

Haven't carried it in my back pocket for years. It was definitely an issue.

You should get one. I have sciatica in and off due to three slightly bulging discs in my lower back. They aren’t willing to inject me yet. If you have tingling to your feet I would bet you have a similar issue and should get injections. One thing that really helps is to build your core strength. Swinging a golf club is the best thing for me

virtually all MRI’s now are sent to specialists in reading them. The fact your laying down has little to no meaning on what the issue is that an MRI is going to show

You may be right but can you explain to me then how a chiropractor took a couple x rays of me standing on my feet with weight on my spine and could see the damage that a specialist with high tech machines failed to see ?

I battled it for 5 months. I had a bulged disc from me being a dumbass and trying to lift heavy crap over my head. Anyways I went to the chiropractor about 5 times. It just made it worse. I could not sleep in bed. I had to sleep in the recliner. My regular doc gave me steroids I took for 10 days. It helped almost immediately. So I started to sleep in bed again. After the 6th day I woke up in pain and could not go back to sleep. The pain was my back though and not the nerve. The evening of the next day the pain went away. I have been good ever since. I am thinking the steroids reduced the inflammation enough that my back went back in line. Hopefully it stays that way. Because siatic pain sucks balls. Just to warn anyone if you go on steroids expect several side affects. The worst for me was I could not taste a dam thing. It was so frustrating to eat something knowing it should be good but nothing.

I had issues in the fall of 2018. I had been having some tightness and pain down the backside of my left leg. Went to the chiro and physical therapy for it. These things tended to help keep it manageable. The best thing I had done was the dry needling, that made it feel the best. it got to the point that I couldn't walk on my tip toes and numbness in my foot. Then one morning I bent over to pick something up and I ended up having to go lay down and didn't leave bed for the rest of the day. Had MRI done due to the terrible pain and had L5S1 bulge. Got a steroid shot in my back and pain went away almost right away. I have been really good since, i visit a chiro about once a month to keep my hip in line but other than that just have to be smart about lifting things.
