Well, you spend the money on a Yeti tailgate, and you should expect as much.

I jest. I received a Yeti Roadie for Christmas last year, from my loving bride, and I love the cooler. Works as advertised.

Bill Dance is still ahead of you. Had a buddy climb into my old 14 ft lund and snap 2 brand new rods of mine before I ever got them wet. And then bitched when I took one of his rods to fish with. Only once. LB

I have only lost one rod that way, but I did slam the back door of my pickup with my mind on other things and took about two inches off the end of a quiver full of carbon arrows. My wife says I take everything but the kitchen sink when I go hunting so luckily I had a dozen in the trailer all set up.

Fishing rods don't belong in a pickup box. There's nothing good that can happen back there. Put them in the cab if you can.
