I have told my devils lake story too many times; i will spare you all. As far as wifey -- yes she normally backs down - unless if its storming and lightning on the water -- then i do
Time Wasting activities at a boat ramp:Patience at the ramps, not everyone that owns a boat launches it 3-4 times a week, maybe only twice a month so probably not quite as smooth as many others. But yes, people need to get everything in the boat before even getting in line, not when your backed down the ramp.
But I will tie up to the courtesy dock if there is one available.8.5, if you don't have a boat/trailer, get out of the boat/trailer parking spots.#8 don't park like a dick head , trailer taking up another spot or behind another trailer
Then get your rig out of the way. Don't say in line, get out of the way including if it means going to the back of the line. Don't expect your partner to finish their "business" before It's your turn, get out of the way. Don't block the road/trail down to the ramp by parking @ the outhouse, get out of the way!I take exception to #6. When you got to go, you got to go!![]()
I was on Horsehead a couple of years ago... the trailers were parked in the grass all the way out to the gravel road and I want to say three people just randomly blocked in about 10 trucks/trailers who were parked along the fence on the west end of the parking area. I couldn't believe my own eyes... I'd have done terrible things to someone's equipment if they did that to me.#8 don't park like a dick head , trailer taking up another spot or behind another trailer
Crap weather coming or already “there”, time to offer any help you can, and swallow your pride and accept help if you need it.Sometimes boat ramps have Heros. About 14 years ago at White Earth ramp a Storm came up Quick everybody scrambling to get off the lake the waves coming into the ramp were around 2 1/2 footers but 4 guys jump in the water up to their waists and helped guide everyone's boats onto their trailers. Without them there would have been a lot of damaged boats and angry guys waiting. Thanks whoever you guys were
