Why didn't they just beach it?
A few years ago a surf boat came out of the Rooster in Skunk Bay and sunk to the bottom, all were rescued but they said the boat was lost and when I was there a week later they said the boat had not been found ??As far as I know, all modern boats are supposed to be neutrally buoyant. In other words, that's about as sunk as one should be able to get nowadays.
Is that the easternmost ramp at Van Hook?
Nobody deserves to be spit on, but maybe the Karma did come around for the Surf boat owner? That area is so full of guys fishing walleyes all over that area even from shore. Not fun having to get rocked with 2 1/2 foot rollers for hours on a calm day ?Because they are a V-drive and you really can't beach them unless it's a super steep bank. 3-4 ft is about as shallow as you can get to before contacting the bottom with the prop and fins depending on boat.
I'm not a van-hooker and wasn't there. No Idea if it's true, but I was told the guy didn't have his plug in and or was taking on water and the fishermen at the ramp told him they fish there and its not for surfing along with some other choice words and wouldn't let him cut in line and get his boat loaded. If what I heard about this situation has any truth to it, those fishermen are some real asshats, which I guess I already knew were out there. Karma's a bitch and I hope it bites them square in the ass if there is any truth to the story.
Being up there last weekend, I was actually pretty happy with the recreational boating crowd, including the jet skis. So much so that I actually noticed that they were keeping their distance from the area where I and about 50 of my closest strangers were fishing by Rodeo. Now, was that intentional, or just a fluke? That I don't know. I do know that some of the anglers were less than courteous while fishing around other boats. Others were plenty friendly to strangers.Nobody deserves to be spit on, but maybe the Karma did come around for the Surf boat owner?
